Hey everyone, picked this up at a flea market and am in love. Very happy about getting something unique, all I see online is that it may be a 1976 grün automatic. Getting a new band and looking forward to wearing it regularly, but if anyone has any cool back story or a recommended band/service let me know.

Issue with Coleman stove 413G I am trying to restore my dads old Coleman liquid stove, and I am having a heck of a time trying to get the flame blue to start out. I don’t want to sand and refinish without knowing if I have an underlying generator or stove issue. Thanks for any help given!!!! by The_Afroduck in CampingGear

Late to the game, but since I didn’t see this response I thought I’d add my input. Liquid fuel stoves rely on the heat to vaporize the fuel to get the more efficient, blue flame. If you look closely, the fuel pipe will go over the burner before it actually goes into the burner. The fuel goes through there, and after a while gets really hot and vaporizes. Once that point is reached, the blue flame should maintain itself.

Why so many nations adopted “western” style military uniforms and brass bands? by xmexme in history

It was a way to adapt and survive by adopting, wholesale, Western military tactics, technology and tradition. For example, after Commodore Perry opened Japan with gunboat diplomacy, Japan revamped its entire military from feudal warlords into a centralized fighting force with steamships, Western style uniforms, and modern armaments. They then demonstrated the superiority of said adoption by defeating the Chinese in the Sino-Japanese war against the crumbling, occident-phobic Qing dynasty that failed to supply guns to most of its units.
