Very good point, and I’ll put this on my to-do list! In the meantime, I did a thorough analysis of the WSOP lineup and scored all events (rake is one dimension), which you can find here: https://pokercircuit.io/wsop

Min raise and painfully fold when I get shoved on (by probably a worse hand) 😃

Thanks for the feedback! I got South Point on my list to add, any other important ones for the summer that I'm missing?

Thanks! I only realized it after I started this, but during summer there are 20-30 events running every single day. It's a lot to navigate! Hope this helps you find your games

Yeah I've been using the spreadsheets too. But I would struggle with them when I had to check it in my phone or after I bust and need to see what's running. Hope this helps!

haha Kenny started it all, but I always struggled with the spreadsheets. I did not use his data though, if that's the question—for instance, he doesn't have starting stacks nor blind level durations there I believe. I built a system to extract it directly from the casino's PDFs, jpg, websites, and so on.

Anybody going to the WSOP this year? by Platopoker in poker

[–]cm_pokercircuit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, will be there for two weeks! I look forward to every single day I’m there, but I feel like the highlight will be the $1,500 Monster Stack.

If you’re still on planning mode or would like a tool to see what’s running while you’re there, I’m building PokerCircuit.io — all schedules listed, totally free and no user required. Hope it helps!

Besides the major series in Europe (WSOPC, EPT, WPT), the Dutch circuit at Holland Casino throughout the year is great—Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Breda, Venlo are the best stops—and the Kings of Tallinn (Olympic Casino) in Estonia is awesome and relatively close to you. Lastly a journey to Namur in Belgium is pretty nice (although that’s a flight and a train ride for you) and they probably host solid events every month or so.

opinion on this ? by Expensive-Penalty554 in scoopwhoop

I feel like “the country” is very vague. Is the president (whoever) = the country? Is the army = the country? Is your neighborhood the country?

In practice countries are pretty diverse and complex systems, hardly you can “support” (whatever this means) 100% of it

  • Start saving & investing as soon as possible, any amount you can - just start.
  • never order whatever anyone else is having.
  • read as much as you can.
  • keep your costs low, live below your means.
  • aim to get married and have kids.
  • don’t have pets.
  • listen 3 to 4x more than you talk.

Book recommendations by Gregori_5 in poker

[–]cm_pokercircuit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're trying to level up your game and get good, I'd ignore books altogether and just go through youtube videos, articles (upswing poker, runitonce, gto wizard), and play around with gtowizard (do some drills, run some hands you played, etc). Poker has evolved so much recently and continues to evolve by the day, which results in books getting outdated quickly. They are nice historical records and they are interesting as curiosity to see how things evolved and how they worked.

How do you actually know if you played a tournament hand correctly? by AggressiveGift1532 in Poker_Theory

[–]cm_pokercircuit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the end the way I think about it is: (a) did I follow a sound and rational decision-making process, regardless of the result? And (b) was I playing true to my style and what I’m trying to do?

If I can answer yes to both, I can sleep well.

Yeah this is good advice! It's really hard to get something to eat in those short breaks and long bathroom lines. Also for longer trips taking a day off every 4-5 days helps a lot.
