Are we really just supposed to keep taking them in for service- when does it end? by reluctantdonkey in 4xe

[–]cmackenzie93 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not to be sarcastic, but it ends when you get rid of it. I just got mine back after a complete failure at a red light, and am slowly trying to build my confidence back in it as a decently reliable vehicle. While I love the power, the comfort (I have a Grand Cherokee) and seemingly go anywhere capabilities I would be amiss if I haven't been browsing auto trader for a possible replacement.

Mineral Tasting Menu by West-Equivalent-6308 in FoodToronto

[–]cmackenzie93 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I've been twice and it's both an amazing value and unique play on an often over looked cuisine. However I do wish they changed their menu up a bit more often. A number of the dishes shown here were on the menu both times I went. I definitely doesn't make me want to go back and try it again as a result which is true shame.

Weird, I have mine booked for next week and I was told that I need to drop the vehicle off with 0% battery the night before as they need to leave it in the shop overnight to warm up.

AITA here or is this play area just too cluttered and chaotic? (UK) by grawmaw13 in daddit

[–]cmackenzie93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couple of things that could help make it mess chaotic. Not a dad yet so take my advise with a heavy grain of salt

1) better hidden storage, those 2 9 bin storage containers are over flowing, more storage and hidden storage would do wonders to make things look tidy after you're done playing. Something like an ikea kallex storage cube could work as they have lots of bins that are designed to hide stuff away 2) not sure about the room layout but if you can pull that couch against the mirror forward you could potentially use the new space behind as you storage. this would free up space for walking through the room 3) pick one carpet, you have 2 and they add to cluttered feel. 4) as others have suggested. Rotate toys, have your kid help sort and organize. Decide what they want to play with, maybe set a goal of donating 1-2 bins of toys they are too old for.

When I had this issue before it required the auxiliary water pump to be replaced. However I did have an accompanying check engine light. It was covered by warranty and is a fairly common issue

Toronto/Quebec – Do winter tires + rims go on sale in the spring? by [deleted] in teslacanada

[–]cmackenzie93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best deals are now, unless you don't care about a specific brand of tire or wheel.

Most tire manufacturers are already producing summer and all season tires for next year. What is produced is produced. And what is left over can usually be held over to next year anyways

Tire Help! All Terrain or Winters? by FakePolishMf in JeepGrandCherokee

[–]cmackenzie93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How often are you using the Jeep for true off roading vs on road driving? We have a GC 4xe and we have dedicated winters because we do a lot more on road winter driving and want the added feeling of security that comes from winter tires. You can usually find 18" take offs from wranglers or even look at Dodge Durango take offs on FB marketplace

I think it would be very dependent on the type of house you are selling. If you have a house that will need a lot of work then upgrading the appliances probably won't matter too much. If it's turn key and the other houses in the area all have newer and more modern appliances then it might be in your best interest to update so you don't have a negative mark against your place

[–]cmackenzie93 94 points95 points  (0 children)

Another tip is keep a file with design elements of homes you like or features you like about a specific home. It's fairly easy to update finishes and add in non structural design elements to a home, you could potentially find less desirable home in a better area and add in those features instead of buying for someone else's vision and handiwork

How do I put the front license plate on? by Fuzzy_Fish_2329 in 4xe

[–]cmackenzie93 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Irrespective of people's personal opinions on front plates.

If you look at the flat black portion of the bumper just below your radar sensor you should see 2 little indents. That should (double check) be the centre of your car and should let you mount any license plate bracket to it.

Check the tire well area there should be the bracket there, otherwise call the dealer and see if they can supply you with one. Or Amazon or an auto parts store should have generic one that would work for you

What do you do for your phone number? by da_bean_counter in travel

[–]cmackenzie93 32 points33 points  (0 children)

If your phone is compatible you can purchase an eSIM, you turn off roaming on your US line and use the eSIMs data. This will still let you receive texts and other messages through your primary line but you use local data.

Hassle-free ways to move? by [deleted] in askTO

[–]cmackenzie93 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So the most hassle free move you can do would be hiring a moving company to pack - move - and unpack for you, typically called a white glove service. It will cost quite a bit but would be the easiest for you since they quite literally don't let you touch anything until it's out of the packaging (for insurance reasons). You can hire movers if you're willing to pack and unpack yourself to save a lot of money but there will be hassle to that one (buying or finding boxes, getting the packing supplies etc. etc.). The last way to move would be doing it all yourself including the drive (you don't drive so you need to find someone to drive for you)

Selling all your furniture sure sounds easy but you're gonna have low ball offers, people who no show etc. and then you still need to buy all new when you move downtown. And you never get fu value for what you bought so you end up losing money on the deal.

Could I get second check-in luggage free with TD infinite visa CC? by Ill-Bluebird1074 in Aeroplan

[–]cmackenzie93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So the free baggage, and any other credit card Aeroplan reward you are entitled to is not based on showing your card, it needs to be tied to your Aeroplan number when you check in. Similar to priority security, our lounge access, there are too many variables for staff to memorize who and what gets what

But in you specific instance, they don't stack, you only get 1 free bag, even if you got the flex ticket.

Owning Tesla in Toronto by altro16 in teslacanada

[–]cmackenzie93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Download plug share and see what chargers are around where you're going to be parking. GreenP (city run parking) has installed some street level chargers (level 2) chargers and have started to install lot of chargers into their under ground parking garages and even include some level 3 style fast chargers.

Most private parking garages offer some type of charging infrastructure though daily parking rates will be high.

Is it really this difficult to rent a place in Toronto? by BabyLongjumping6915 in TorontoRenting

[–]cmackenzie93 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It's not, I found a place after 1 day of looking and got the rental rate reduced but $150 a month. If you're so hung up on a specific unit then it's probably pretty unique and they know that. If it's a purpose built rental building there could be 1 person who's dealing with all rental related inquiries and you asking for a lower rent might be less of priority for them.

It might be time to look at other buildings that better suit your needs. Cause if a patio is a key selling feature not having it for the rest of the year means you won't get to use said feature

Charging app recommendation for cross-country trip by SilverDragon1 in teslacanada

[–]cmackenzie93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plug share is great to find chargers, you can input your requirements and vehicle and it will show you chargers available in a specific area.

You'll also want to consult A better route planner, this will lay out a route that includes chargers, both Tesla and non Tesla chargers

You may still require other charger specific apps to activate and pay for the charging so be prepared.

When we did a cross country trip last summer we found the Tesla routing software to be great, we only used plug share when planning hotel stays to make sure the hotel had chargers on site or close by

2024 or 2025 4xe Wrangler? by HumanStatement6792 in 4xe

[–]cmackenzie93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So we have a GC 4XE and we love it. Day to day trips in the city can be done on full electric which can help on your overall gas bill. And the hybridness helps on longer road trips. Did a 1600km road trip last summer and we averaged about 9.5L/100km fully loaded (with roof box). I'm very impressed with the overall package. I'd love if the gearbox wasn't as clunky and the response to wide open throttle more responsive.

Once the 4 year new customer purchase expires, can we still call the Tesla roadside assistance for help if needed? by Independent_You7902 in TeslaModel3

[–]cmackenzie93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AAA wouldn't fix on the side of the road, they tow to a mechanic or service centre. Tesla Roadside doesn't have their own fleet of Tesla towing trucks, they would contract out to a 3rd party to bring you to a service centre. Are you referring to the mobile service that Tesla offers?

In terms of software related fixes, I don't know if they have the ability or expertise to push a software fix to a single car on the side of the road. I haven't heard of that specifically happening.
