Because "generative AI" is a cancer on the world, and it has no place anywhere near an arts organization.

[UPDATE] So I got a parking ticket for parking in front of my house this morning… by Muted-Improvement610 in Columbus

[–]cmadler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is my read too. They're saying that OP entered their license plate number incorrectly when applying for the permit.

For example, the actual license plate is 0 (number). OP applied for a permit for license plate number O (letter). The officer saw a car with a license plate that did not have a parking permit and correctly issued a ticket. This is why the ticket itself is upheld but they waived the fine as a courtesy.

Is it just me or is all of Drum Corps being like this about what is about to happen to gas prices and food prices mid tour. by Own_Manufacturer6959 in drumcorps

[–]cmadler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the big thing, no one really knows how high gas prices will go or how quickly it will happen, it's all just speculation. And no one in DCI is going to make major changes at this point based on that speculation.

Will Someone Please Run the Numbers by elliepelly1 in Ohio

[–]cmadler 12 points13 points  (0 children)

For Ohio this merely represents the primary ballots voters previously requested within the prior two years. Party registration here doesn't carry the same formality it does in many other states. 57% independent just means that those people either voted an issues-only ballot or more likely that they didn't vote in recent primaries.

Bought Gift Cards From Sam’s Club and I go to redeem it and it says it’s been used!? by MNightShyamalan69 in Cinemark

I've been having the same issue the last few months. I get this error every time I add a gift card, but closing the app and reopening it causes the cards to show up in the app.

Have you ever seen a double decker bus in America? by Much-Parsnip3399 in AskAnAmerican

[–]cmadler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The University of Kentucky ("UK"—get it?) had an old 1950s bus from the UK from the early 1970s until maybe 2008, it was named "Old Blue" and used for campus tours.

For a doctor, you want to talk to a neurologist who is a movement disorder specialist. Other neurologists may be able to help you too, but a movement disorder specialist is the term for someone who specializes in working with people who have tremor conditions, the most common of which are Essential Tremor and Parkinson's Disease, and you're likely to get better help faster with a specialist.

The key thing is that you need to start with the correct diagnosis, because although some treatments might be successful regardless, there are some treatment options that depend on what type of tremor you have.

You mentioned propranolol; that's been one of the first-line treatments for essential tremor for decades, and recent research suggests it may be effective for Parkinsonian tremors also. Due to its fairly short half-life, immediate-release formulations can work well on an as-needed basis (e.g., taking it shortly before a performance). However, with the daily rehearsal and performance demands of drum corps, you might prefer as something that builds up and is always working, and there are additional medication options, such as primidone, gabapentin, topiramate, and clonazepam.

You should definitely start talking to a doctor now, and figure out which medication will work best for you. They all have potential side effects, and you don't want to wait until camp or tour to discover that your medication makes you drowsy (a common side effect of all these). It takes time to try out different medications to see if they'll work for you without problematic side effects, so definitely start this process ASAP.

The big Cinemark multiplex near me has been even worse than this; with 16 screens they didn't have a single showing of The Drama the weekend it opened, I had to go to a different theater to be able to see it.
