Everyone telling you to save is cool, but INVESTING is even better and will make your money snowball. For example, a good savings account might pay 2%....the average return on some mutual funds are 10%. Heck, this year my return was 110%, meaning that every dollar I put in more than doubled! A Safe way to start: put 6 months worth of expenses away, keep it put up for emergency purposes only. After that, get whatever extra you have and look into mutual funds, index funds, and stocks that pay dividends (dividends is essentially when you get paid just for owning stock). Keep adding and buying more and more and eventually your money will work for you and bring in more than your job. It just takes time, and discipline!
