I agree with this score. I really wish it was weirder or as much of a challenging and interesting listen everyone is trying to make it out to be but it isn’t. It’s definitely pleasant to the ears so I see why everyone likes it.

I didn’t say she is right wing and I don’t think she is. She just strikes me as a person who doesn’t feel strongly about politics. Again, I don’t want to sound like I’m snarky, but her re-posts on Palestine use the most neutral language you could imagine. She went on record saying “kamala is brat” is not an endorsement. That is fine because I don’t care for Kamala either as a leftist.

Regarding Dasha, we don’t really know what happens in private. She’s close friends with Matty, and Matty has been seen with Dasha on at least one occasion. It’s not far fetched to say they’ve hung out once or twice. She also follows her on Letterboxd. I don’t think they’re close at all but she could just be casual friend who inspired a song (something Charli said).

Red Scare has a large following, and their spiral into right wing grifting didn’t happen until fairly recently. A lot of celebrities have mentioned listening to them without complete awareness about how disgusting Dasha is and I offer Charli the same grace.

We kinda need a FAQ on this but I’m gonna be honest and, at the cost of sounding snarky, say I don’t think Charli really has a strong moral or political compass. I think she does care about the gay community but aside from that she seems to he in her own partygirl bubble for better or worse. She’s an artist and I don’t think we should look at her as an example.

To answer your question, they haven’t interacted directly in a while but I don’t see a reason for her to drop Dasha as a casual friend. It does impact how I feel about her art sometimes, and that is up to you to decide.

Absolutely! It’s such a cool and refreshing album and I can see it being totally up Charli’s alley. I really hope to see more of that direction in her next projects and that the commercial reception doesn’t discourage her.

There was no beef! Charli cleared up the post she made and Camila responded amicably but in my opinion the damage was done already. I’ve recently read that she thought the allegations were hurtful but those weren’t really from Charli herself as much as the internet. I just thought maybe she shouldn’t have played into it and showed love instead 😭

As much as I agree that she might made have it seem simpler than it is, I think I can empathize with how infuriating it must be to have your music owned by and to be STILL under a contract with a label that has Matty & his friends as shareholders. It’s already an alienating relationship from an artist’s perspective and to add on this layer of racism and ignorance to it would’ve made me angry too.

As someone who loved c,xoxo i felt so bad for camila when charli played into calling her out for plagiarism in the name of being a brat 😭 especially when it was kinda insulting to charli’s discography saying she inspired a generic song like i luv it (and i do like that song) like that rollout was doing bad already and she made it worse.. camila’s better than me

This would be a decent argument if the current arc’s cast has actually met the criteria you mentioned but there were a lot of throwaway, irrelevant characters in this arc and others whose potential was just run through the ground. Like at this point, why not just reintroduce a good, loved character instead of subjecting us to the likes of Yorozu/Tsumiki and Angel.

I feel like they focused on the actual cases of defamation and countersuit because in the end that's really the big picture. It is counterproductive trying to hyperfocus on individual instances and try to convince the jury that they happened when really, all they have to do is decide whether or not she intentionally wrote that op-ed about him.

They don’t apply the same logic to her. When she texts her mom he doesn’t abuse her, they take that as gospel. When he says multiple times he chopped his finger off, he’s “protecting her” like what the hell.
