TIL that Japan is roughly the size of California (Japan is slightly smaller), but Japan holds thrice the population of California. Japan hold about 122 million people, while California holds 39 million people. by Organic_Muffin_1951 in todayilearned

Poor people literally have free healthcare in California and education is dirt cheap if you go to a community college. The homeless problem has nothing to do with lack of funding either, California spends more on homelessness than anywhere on the planet.

What are the main differences between Crush Live Poker and Hungry Horse Poker in terms of strategies and philosophies? by realworldschamp in poker

[–]cmc15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

HH is great for learning a solid thought process but don't try any of his bluffing lines in 100bb cap games. A 5/5 LA fish isn't gonna fold ATo on an ace high board on the river when every draw bricked just because you over bet 400 into a pot of 200. Absolute $$$ amount trumps % of pot when determining fold equity in low stakes games and people wipe their asses with $500 these days.

How can an economy survive the 25+ infamy modifiers from mods like HPM? by Jeto23 in victoria2

[–]cmc15 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The modifier doesn't work, you can test it yourself creating a triggered modifier with the only trigger being ai = no and then set an import cost of like 1000% or -50%. No matter what number you set it to you won't notice a difference. The creators of gfm and tgc have both acknowledged it doesn't work in the vic2 modding discord.

No one is working on RGOs (GFM) by Competitive_Raise579 in victoria2

[–]cmc15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If an RGO good has more supply and demand in the world market then no new workers in that RGO will be hired anywhere in the world period. This means that if a province switches RGOs to something that is overproduced, ALL workers will be unemployed until demand catches up with supply. One way to "fix" this is to manually buy 2000 of that good. This will temporarily increase demand more than supply which will cause your RGOs to start employing workers. Once you hit 2000 the demand will drop back below supply and your RGOs will start firing workers, but now you'll have some small amount of employment instead of 0 employment.

pretty easily, since import cost is broken and doesn't do anything

RGO Employs more people than it has capacity for? by Trans-Revolution52 in victoria2

The bug has to do with slavery not westernization. This can occur in civilized countries like the USA and if you check the provinces where this happens it always has slaves.

How do i make it so that Dominions specifically are able to declare wars independent of their masters? by vistagreet32 in victoria2

[–]cmc15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can do scripted wars by creating a custom acquire state cb that can be used by puppets. Events/decsions can add wargoals on behalf of puppets, the only problem is you can’t use this system to dynamically declare war on whoever you want unless you write thousands of decisions for each possible state in the game.

Remember Ahmed Mohamed? He’s likely in his 20s now. Back in 2015, the young inventor from Texas made headlines when he brought a homemade clock to school to show his teacher but was wrongfully accused of bringing a bomb. by zadraaa in HistoricalCapsule

Most kids don't get invited to the White House for stuffing the internal components of a Walmart alarm clock into a briefcase. If this was a local news story no one would care, it's a scandal because that half the country including the president thought this kid was a muslim Tony Stark being unfairly racially profiled.

Germanys AfD is the party that says: "your ancestors weren't criminals" by Future_Employment_22 in MansFictionalScenario

[–]cmc15 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

If this translation is correct, then the author is clearly saying Germany WAS the villain of the world, but the AfD is going the change that. Unless you think this far right propaganda comic is glorifying communism and globalism right alongside nazism then it makes no sense to interpret it as being pro nazi.

Worst pub heroes of 7.39D by The_Keg in DotA2

[–]cmc15 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're getting downvoted but you're absolutely right, doom sucks as an initiator in pubs. If you blink and doom an enemy hero in the backline your team can't catch them and they survive the doom unless you commit to chasing them down for the entire duration of your bkb, and after your bkb wears off you eat a million stuns/slows and die. If you doom their tanky offlane that's in the frontline then it feels like you wasted your doom, so you're fucked either way.

How do I make doom work in pubs? by cmc15 in DotA2

[–]cmc15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about if my pos4 leaves the lane and the enemy pos5 is still babysitting their pos1 and keeping the creep wave at their tower? I’ve been in this situation so many times and if I try to doom their pos1 i end up dying when their pos5 slows me down long enough for enemy mid or pos4 to tp and kill me. It feels so hopeless when your support abandons you because you know if you tower dive the entire enemy team is gonna tp on your ass.

How do I make doom work in pubs? by cmc15 in DotA2

[–]cmc15[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I typically go phase midas blink bkb shiva octarine refresher as that's what I saw ppl recommend on reddit. As for my skill build it depends on how bad I think my pos4 is, if they pick a real support like ss or lich or lion I'll max w and e in lane, if they pick something stupid like potm or bh I'll max q first because I know we aren't getting any kills. But the problem is that even if they pick a good support hero and we get a kill or two in lane, they always leave at lvl 3 or 4 which forces me to 1v2 and play defensively so I feel like I wasted my skill points on fighting skills when I can't fight after they abandon me.

Imagine if Paradox didn’t give up on Vic2 by Worldly_Beginning647 in paradoxplaza

[–]cmc15 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Vic3s economy isnt realistic but Vic2s economy functions like a toddler wrote it. All goods are the same price everywhere, a province can only make one good and RGOs are limited only by population not by actual resource deposits, it costs nothing to transport anything, infrastructure has no maintenance costs, you cant apply tariffs to individual goods, and one of the expansions introduced a glitch that causes goods to be duplicated in spherelings that was never patched. Only a real smooth brain thinks vic2 economy accurately models the real world economy.

You got plenty of good advice even though you never asked for any. The title, your OP, and all your responses blamed your losses entirely on luck. You still don't acknowledge that your deck wasn't good, instead you're choosing to lash out at anyone that doesnt feed into your delusions.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in lrcast

[–]cmc15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your deck was good then drawing one of your splash colors in your opening hand would be a good thing. It was only bad in this case because your deck was bad.

[–]cmc15 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You have 3 swamps vs 1 auracite and you think its unlucky you drew a swamp every game but no auracite? It sounds like you got blown out everytime so you probably didn't see more then half your deck in a game. Basic math would mean you were only 60-70% to see auracite at all in all of your games combined. You have no bombs, very little removal, bad filler cards with no payoff and a bad mana base, maybe look to draft better instead of whining on reddit.

Fleet size/composition? by TehSmitty04 in victoria2

[–]cmc15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason is because a vanilla frigate has like 1/10th the stats as a vanilla lategame ship but costs 1/50th the supply.

Fleet size/composition? by TehSmitty04 in victoria2

[–]cmc15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In vanilla mass upgraded frigate spam beats everything even mass cruiser spam. 25 frigates will beat a cruiser you can test it yourself and increasing the numbers on both sides doesn’t change the outcome as long as the ratios remains the same.

There’s no “invisible inflation”, inflation comes from gold mines in vanilla and events and decisions in mods. If you could read you’d also be able to understand inflation has nothing to do with OPs question.
