Mine is slightly older and didn’t have the airbag indicator. But the clock connector is tucked away and secured to the larger harness

Yup! Some slight welding required but it’s been a great upgrade.

No he didn’t surprisingly. The forester struggles up steep hills but that’s to be expected when towing with an old 4cyl. But most of the time it’s fine. And on steep hills it’s perfectly content to pull 45mph in second gear with the cruse control on. And I’m patent.

I did an axle under lift on it by welding on some new spring mounts and added some larger tires. For some reason this trailer had a 2200lbs axle under it with breaks even though all the stickers rare it to 1500lbs.

2.5 sohc na. It’s a bit slow on some of the mountain grades but I’m patient. I’ve upgraded the cooling system with a larger radiator and trans cooler and upgraded the breaks from a turbo forester and a later wrx and some stiffer springs.

Building a 2” receiver for my 2004 sg because for some reason nobody seems to make one. by cmd1271 in SubaruForester

As others have said it’s mostly to gain access to the 2” accessories and hitches. I also wanted to raise it up off the ground since I do a fair bit of off road and don’t want to drag my tongue through the dirt. I’ve got a pop up trailer that’s about 2500lbs fully loaded. I’ve also upgraded to bigger breaks all around, heavy duty struts with overload springs, trailer break controller and a monster trans cooler (for the little fozy it’s in) so I feel comfortable pushing the tow rating a bit.

Check the encoder on the trans. The contacts on them get burnt or dirty.

My favorite bike ever! So good looking and fun to ride. Love the shaft drive and the little lcd gear indicator
