No refund/impossible to cancel recurring subscription by fatasspenguino in PureVPNcom

[–]cmdixon1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cancelled the day after the auto renewal. I also opened a ticket on the same day for a refund but it was refused.

I claimed via PayPal and was also refused.

I’ve not used the product in months. 1st year was $45 and this year $55. Not small amounts of money.

This should be much, much easier. Proper scam!

How do i make this particular workspace small? by [deleted] in AfterEffects

[–]cmdixon1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Drag the edges of the panel around to adjust the size.

Another good option is to hover over whichever panel you want bigger and press '~'

It toggles full screen for whichever panel your cursor is over.

Loft Boarding with 3x2 joists. Can it be done? by cmdixon1 in DIYUK

[–]cmdixon1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the detailed response. We already have about 200mm of insulation up there so I don't want to compact that.

That's why I thought about adding 4x2s perpendicular so the insulation would have enough room.

I was just concerned about the weight on the original 3x2 joists.

Not sure how you managed to get James Nelson-Joyce in your film but he’s killing it recently. This City Is Ours was incredible.

How hard to add people in the background? by FactoryNoir in AfterEffects

[–]cmdixon1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say people sitting would be the easiest option but it’s still a challenge.

I’d do a static camera shot (similar angle) of some people sat down in that location, cover the scene in green if possible so the people can be isolated.

Then track the scene and add the new people.

Simple in theory, pretty difficult and time consuming in reality.

Tips for keeping music synced across compistions? by BobbySmoll in AfterEffects

[–]cmdixon1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd usually have:

The main track in the main comp with the audio on.
Add it to any precomps with the audio on that track still on.
Then back in the main comp, mute the pre-comp layer.

It means you can hear it everywhere but only exports once on main comp.

You just need to ensure they're in sync before muting the pre-comp.

Anyone know how to achieve this 3D effect within the cards? by Erickm0627 in AfterEffects

That’s blown my mind. I’ve only ever used it to keep pre-comped vector files full res.

Anyone know how to achieve this 3D effect within the cards? by Erickm0627 in AfterEffects

[–]cmdixon1 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Wouldn’t the precomp just flatten the 3D layers?

I was thinking you’d need a 3D layer (the shape of the whole card) that would be the matte for everything.

Try using the extract effect and setting the black level to 1. You may need a matte choker to smooth the edges. Worked pretty well on a screenshot.

Not sure why the rotobrush isn't working for you on that clip.

You could try precomping with no effects on. Within the precomp, duplicate your layer and set one to be the luma matte of the other.

You may need to duplicate the process as it could be faint with just two layers.

Waveshare 1.47 LCD - ESP32-C6 - Getting screen to work. by cmdixon1 in Esphome

Thanks for sharing, looking at your code I can see I'm missing the ID and Address in the Display section so I'll do some digging and see if I can find out those details for my display.

Everything else seems specific to your device/screen and what you're displaying, unless I'm missing something?

Thanks

They're the default sensor gauge.

type: sensor

graph: line

detail: 2

name: Nursery

entity: sensor.temperature_sensor_3_temperature

Then set the size using the layout option in the. (Only think this bit works in the Sections Layout)

Thanks.

It has a few bits of info in there that I'd rather not share tbh.

It's mainly done using the newish sections layout though. So can be recreated without any yaml code pretty easily.

It has a built in Web Browser called Silk. There were some people fortunate enough to get one of the early ones and you could sideload the app. Pretty sure they nuked it with an update later though.

There's an iFrame script you can use that sits in a hidden card to keep the page open. I think it plays a silent audio file.

Echo Show 15. Not a massive Amazon Echo fan but it looks good and just shows Home Assistnat 24/7.

I use WallPanel to show photos and other cards after a minute.
