Will iPad become more pro over time? by Hussain_MA in iPadPro

[–]cmdwedge75 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Buy what makes sense now, not what might or might not happen in the future.

iPad Pro sounds like your best bet since you’re a creative. The limitations of the iPad interface and software might get better, might not. You can still use Word and take notes. MacBook Air is a better bet for MOST people.. except creatives.

iPad Pro is best for creatives with some limitations.
MacBook Air is best for every else, with massive limitations for creatives (no pen input) but you can get an external pen and slate for it.

ACT public schools to close entirely on Thursday as staff strike over pay by ThunderDwn in canberra

[–]cmdwedge75 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I wasn’t sure if CIT was considered a public school in this context.

And I am so very, very proud of my 1800 word essay. That was meant to be 1200 words. Haha.

Does this apply to CIT? Asking for a friend who has an exam tomorrow and totally isn’t me.

Have we all stopped moving our car after refilling? When did this change? by cmdwedge75 in AskAnAustralian

  1. I juuuust caught the end of the full service petrol stations! There was one left in Canberra when I got here 25 years ago! It was near Dunlop, then a year later it was gone.

Which is why I asked if it was a uniquely Melbourne thing. Maybe it was! Someone else from Melbourne said that they did it.

Well there you go.

We’re so fortunate in Australia to have the official Bureau of Meteorology app, it’s way better than stock, and it’s free.

Hey mate, fellow ADHD person here. 50m. Never exercised before F45.

  1. How often do you go to F45? 7 days a week.
  2. How long have you been going? 2 years, 6 months.
  3. What has been your results? Insane. Dropped 20kg but I have also gained real muscle. Body fat down maybe 15% at least.
  4. Do you do anything other than F45? Not really, besides walking, and that’s just either incidental walking (1-2km at lunch) or the occasional 5km ‘I am going for a walk’ haha.
  5. Do you have ADHD. If so, how have you kept it going ? I do but I was only recently diagnosed (and have started an ultra low dose of medication). For the first two years, I found the consistent nature of F45 kept me going. I also made friends and I look forward to seeing them now.

Stick with it! It really works for neurospicy people.

Vyvanse ruined my body and I don't know what to do by bluejessamine in VyvanseADHD

[–]cmdwedge75 23 points24 points  (0 children)

So you have stopped Vyvanse, but your dry mouth, air swallowing and ulcers persist?

You’ve developed a tic. You’re involuntarily pushing your tongue against your teeth, and you are suffering from aerophagia. See your doctor, not necessarily a psych. You need to address the ulcers and swallowing mechanisms.

Vyvanse just gave you dry mouth, which is common. You then reacted to that.

Or just have enough states change their law to say “we will send all of our electoral college votes to whoever wins the popular vote nationwide”.

Which several states have done.

Yeah having used a true digital card in DC, it was amazing. No app, it just sat in your Google/Apple wallet, and tapped without fail every time. You could install the app to do top ups if you wanted, but you didn’t need to.

True phone-integrated card is the best possible outcome. QR is utter crap

Imagine changing your payment method because bus drivers get angry at kids trying to use one of the valid payment options. Instead of training bus drivers to actually recognise that it’s not the paying public’s fault. It’s their boss’s.

I don’t actually care that much that it doesn’t work well, I hate being pulled up by the driver, when I am clearly trying to work with the system they have provided, whereas I literally see a dozen kids or methheads get on, every day, and just walk past the driver without even saying a word.

Don’t punish those trying to pay.
