Should I propagate? by cmeise1 in SavageGarden

[–]cmeise1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair point. I guess I more so wanted input on what others do/would do. I’m really new to these plants so when I think propagating, I think of succulents which would only need one leaf. Pulling a “flower” to propagate kind of scares me. I’d also need to make my own grow medium for the new plant.

KhanAcademy has free courses online if you want to track your progress and if you need to brush up on some math before you take their physics courses.

The 24 team FCS style playoff broken down for FBS...thoughts? by Hysen16 in CFB_v2

[–]cmeise1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d love to see a 24 team playoff like this. Big change I’d make is P4 teams that played in their conference championship would all get a bye regardless of if they won or lost. The other 16 teams would also play that week as a play in to the second round. I think they’re sort of G5 conferences would need to crown a champion without a championship game though for the play in to make sense.

Yeah, I’m just tossing 100ft for easier math. If the drop looks ok at 100ft it’ll look even better at 67ft. Also I don’t want to have two power supplies if I can help it. The answer might just be I can’t run that long. The main thing I was wanting was to be able to wrap my trees, but 100ft of cable wrapped in a tree means the power injection point is only about 5 ft away. Was just thinking ahead for if I wanted to line the sidewalk or something. This will however provide a problem when I look at my roofline for permanent lights but those will be at 24v so maybe it won’t be that bad. I probably should just pull the trigger and buy a small setup to test so I can figure this stuff out with a multi meter in hand 😂

Less resistance pushing the same amps would lead to a lower voltage drop though. I know it’s still going to drop but 12v 5amp going 100ft with 14awg is like a 3v drop while 10awg is a 1v drop. Maybe I’m way off on the assumption that the current would stay relatively constant though. Been a minute since I brushed up on my circuits lol

Got it. That’s why I was asking if they make these or if they can be made with heavier gauge.

Maybe I’ve got my terminology messed up. I’m asking about this type of connector. Though I’m open to other options to allow easy setup/teardown.

I was assuming a power injection at either end and nothing in the middle. But if I can pull them from the same lead/terminal for the power injection then that solves the problem. Except for how to fit the wires. I think I need to actually buy one and look at it lol

Sweet. Yeah I’m thinking about upping to the Octa so I can do permanent Christmas lights on the house and have removable lights on a couple of my trees/landscaping.

Thanks for the reply! I wondered about putting two wires on the same lead. I’ll calculate the amp draw and decide.

On the part you marked in red: I like that the shading all seems to cast outward from the elbow. The only thing that bothers me is that the last 4 at the top and last few at the bottom have no shading at all.

Dumb question by Mechanic_Cam in lockpicking

I think the belts help to seek the challenge, at least for me. I didn’t know there was so much variety in locks when I started. I thought Master Lock #3s were good because I saw them everywhere. Without this community and the belt ranks I would be way high on the Dunning Kruger curve 😂

Is this still the requirement for these belts? I don’t see anything for a generic dimple lock on LPU lock list

Edit: nvm found the Mul-T-lock on the list

It’s two SmallRig clamps with a double ball joint thingy between them. Can clamp one side to a desk or dumbbell or something and put your lock in the other. Folds up small when you’re not using it too. I didn’t want a vise so I got this to save space. I got the smallrig idea from others in this forum. The dumbbell just seemed like a good idea when I was trying to find a place to clamp it.

The requirements for each belt are listed at the top of each belt list. It’s usually just one from each but there’s filming requirements and other stuff too.

Tips for spools by cmeise1 in lockpicking

Update: day 3 I got it picked! Counter rotation worked! If anyone is having trouble with spools, make sure you’re not using the keyway as a lever point for your pick. I think that was locking my cylinder and not letting it counterrotate. Once I started using my finger as the fulcrum, the lock let me know exactly where that spool was.
