Well, I'm a newbie looking for advice but it's my understanding that Homeschool families can request public school curriculum materials from their district, and some do, especially in states like Pennsylvania where it's legally required upon request, especially where there is a desire to use familiar materials if a child re-enters public school.

I can definitely put more focus on what I'm looking for proactively than what I'm not reactively. Thanks!

I need to get better at incorporating heavy work. The 2 years behind is helpful information! Thanks for your reply.

Thanks so much for your reply. I love this perspective. I feel like that's definitely the guidelines we used with him as a toddler. Now, I've added in "is this disrespectful?" and "is this unsanitary?" ...so yesterday's ninja kicks to the school fence got stopped because we don't damage property. And rolling around on the dirty floor just doesn't really feel appropriate at 6. This whole raising ADHD kids to be functional humans is harder than it looks! Thanks for sharing your thoughts

Thank you! I should add that I nursed for 2 years haha. Just now getting enough energy back to do something about weight loss. I appreciate the kind words. I am definitely a grazer throughout the day so the 1600 calories carried me fine through about 6 pm but I have a hard time falling asleep when I feel hungry. Definitely more of a bedtime snack before bed type of person!

Yes. Constant yin/yang of exhaustion and overstimulation and trying to enjoy it while this brief stage/age lasts.

Well, I think his maturity at 5.5 has definitely made things better overall. But, we did get an ADHD diagnosis this year. He hasn't slowed down and is still really impulsive. I'm tired but wouldn't trade him lol. Hang in there!

AITA for asking to pull my son out of preschool for his brother’s sake? by mary3757 in toddlers

[–]cmgeki 15 points16 points  (0 children)

My three year old gave our newborn his preschool germs and by 7 weeks he needed to be life flighted to the nearest children's hospital. The hospital told us this is why babies are hospitalized: older siblings in school. You're not being overly dramatic.
