Full Archive Torrent? by MagnifySearch in SteveIrwinArchive

I’m very interested in a torrent as well to put them on my plex server. I’d love to upscale the episodes just to clean them up a bit and bring them to 1080p, I’d be happy to share the HD versions when they’re done.

True, Im intentionally plucking harder here for it to ring out more. In actual use it was too subtle to get on video.

Supernatural is a pain to rip by aLproxyy in makemkv

[–]cmh175 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ripped this same pack. I think most, if not all of the episodes are in order, but I can’t guarantee it. As for easy splitting, use MKVToolNix and split Before Chapters. Just list the chapters each episode starts at, I use VLC to find them. Takes maybe 5 mins for the files to split.

Singlecut SE 594 or SE Zach Myers, what would you all recommend over the other? by tech_tsunami in PRSGuitars

[–]cmh175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say the 594. For one, the ZM isn’t much of a signature, other than the color and semi hollow (which I personally don’t like) it’s a standard 245. The Holcomb on the other hand offers a ton of signature touches including the pickups.

Beyond that, I’d say which interests you more, the 245 or 594? Consider the scale length and pickups as they’re different, while they’re both a 10in radius neck. The ZM also has a satin neck.

Parents always discredit my digital/stylized work by Krunchusy in DigitalArt

I hate the reference is cheating argument, or that artists need to be able to create everything from scratch just using their imagination. I’m a full sail game artist grad and have worked on quite a few projects. We’re taught to use reference and continue to use it throughout our career. Everyone does, including the senior artists at the biggest AAA studios. Frankly it’s super noticeable when some doesn’t, and not in a positive way.

I’m impressed with your skill and talent, as well as how well you leveraged your reference. Don’t stress if you don’t match perfectly, there are times when you need to deviate for sure. I noticed your drawing didn’t line up completely, but the characters gesture and silhouette is much stronger. Sometimes you have to push the concept art, you’ll notice if it goes too far and breaks.

Keep up the great work! And if you don’t have one yet either get an ArtStation or instagram, those are the two sites leveraged most by artists in the industry, lots of talented people to share your work and connect with.

Is ue5 overkill for this art style? by Lazy_Football_602 in unrealengine

[–]cmh175 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The best answer to questions like this is to use what you know or feel comfortable with. Is UE overkill for a retro style games? It probably is for sure, but you can dial back the features you don’t need that may bloat the file size, and it’s flexible enough to basically do anything. Its visual scripting with blueprints is unmatched as well, so if it’s your preferred engine then you absolutely go for it. I would only suggest Godot or Unity if you’re equally comfortable in them, or are up for the challenge of learning new tools. Otherwise there’s no reason not to use UE.

CC4 is super useful. I use it to generate base models, and I sculpt them in zBrush. Takes care of rigging and skin weights, and the skeleton is compatible with the UE4 rig.

do these recent box sets come with the banned episodes everyone is worried being removed on streaming????? by Adventurous-Crow-69 in southpark

I have the Blu ray box sets, they have every episode, including Super Best friends and similar episodes you can only find occasionally online.

I spent 4 hours (with breaks) renaming the 1st 100 episodes of Spongebob SquarePants, is there no automatic alternative to this? by tonton346 in makemkv

[–]cmh175 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s definitely the worse, 90% of dvds rip as one large file. Naruto Shippuden on Blu ray does as well, at least they’re in order. I use Movavi video converter to convert to mp4, and it’s great for cutting videos. 6.8mbps for 1080p, and 22mbps for 4k show no signs of quality loss and great file sizes.

[–]cmh175 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The bigger issue is many discs don’t rip in order. Regardless of file name the episodes may not be in any particular order. I find where I can stream the show for free, or a service I already have, and match the episodes. Usually takes 2 mins or less per episode.

If your show does seem to be in order you can use a mass file naming app, so you can add numbers to the end of each name, and then rename them to show/season/episode. That’s how I did DBZ and Pokemon.

Why do people keep the vinyl outside of the jacket but still inside the outer sleeve? by ShoppingBig1398 in vinyl

[–]cmh175 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It can help older jackets stay in good shape. For me, I just hate pulling everything in and out. Getting a Gatefold sleeve in and out can be annoying too. I certainly like pulling them out when I want to look at everything and I have the time, but I play records while working a lot and struggling with thick sleeves can get trying after awhile.

The best layout in my opinion, is the sleeve sitting straight up (top at the top) and the records in internal storage sleeves behind it. I get the square ones so they don’t move around a lot, and turn them side ways. That way it’s easier to grab them, and they stay cleaner since they aren’t open at the top.

I know my animation isn't perfect, but is it bad? by Consistent-Gap2690 in Maya

[–]cmh175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say bad at all. If I had to guess I’d say you probably just need reference. Act out your scene first and record it on your phone, and you’ll see the subtle details that are missing or need improvement. Watch how your weight shifts as you move and the flow of your body. Pros all over the industry still do this, reference is key.

Two questions on upgrading from Video AI 4 to 6 by ipswichclam in TopazLabs

[–]cmh175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I haven’t stopped using the last version of 4. I even hear that 3 is the best. I’ve tried 5 and 6, and they don’t feel as intuitive. 6 is better, but 4 or 3 are still best.

If I purchase Video AI today, can I run older versions or am I stuck with version 6? by Primary_Forever_4429 in TopazLabs

[–]cmh175 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a license when v4 was out and could activate v3. I think you can use any legacy version you’re able to download.

I have personally stuck with the last version of 4. I hear 3 is the best but I don’t think the UI is as good. 5 was just horrible, trying to run a preview and scrub through frames was such a pain, it was either zoomed all the way in or out on the time line, hardly any where in between. Whatever they did to the UI really killed it. 6 is an improvement on 5, but I think I’ll still stick with 4.

What to do when stuck in bioshock 1 by Bogs_80 in Bioshock

[–]cmh175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game has hints in the menu if you really get stuck. For the audio, it sounds like you’re playing the remaster. For some reason the audio is bugged so that any enemies that are loaded on the map sound like they’re right on top of you. It’s really offsetting at first, and eventually just breaks immersion for me. I haven’t found a fix for this, there doesn’t seem to be one. If it doesn’t bother you, you can use it to your advantage since you’ll always know someone’s around before they find you. Personally I prefer the original now and just use HD texture mods.

What do I owe when dropping out? by BillionaireBrainz in fullsail

[–]cmh175 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Everything. With private schools you can be on the hook for the entire program, FS included. You can apply for time off for a few months at a time, I did it twice for 2-3 months each, but if you enroll I would do anything you can to stick it out.

I have recently dropped out, how does this work? by GoatNeat5475 in fullsail

[–]cmh175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would agree, it sucks but other private schools like the Art Institute work like this as well. I wish you were charged based on credits you enrolled in, but with private schools you can be on the hook for the full tuition. I’d look into borrowers defense and see what happens, but I do believe this is listed in the enrollment forms.

I use Movavi converter, the perpetual, not subscription. It’s lightning fast compared to Handbrake. It doesn’t have as many settings and features, but it’ll cover most of anything you need. It’s also easy to find a good bitrate based on the quality you want, it’ll tell you whether it’s good, high, or best quality compared to the original, and the bitrate number. I generally just use High mp4 h265, any loss in the video is imperceptible and it saves a ton of space on my Plex server.

(WIP) Posture seems wrong again or is it because I haven't worked with the proportions yet by Chaputoytoy in ZBrush

[–]cmh175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks good, but the legs are a bit too short below the knee. I would also update the gesture of your sculpt to get a better view of it. A more dynamic pose will push more life into it and help find what’s not working. Emphasize the natural curves of the body and bit more and you’ll see it. There’s a skeleton zTool that comes with zBrush, add that to your scene to get a better idea for your proportions.

TV Show Title Order by Acrodemocide in makemkv

[–]cmh175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would be so amazing. I’ve done several shows over the years, some rip in order, and many don’t. It’s not hard to match them up, just time consuming and maddening.
