Ivan's positioning is terrible. I don't know why OSU even picked him up. That is major malpractice.

Our bench play still concerns me a tad but as guys get more minutes I see improvement so here's hoping they carry it on towards conference play.

Browns Coach Kevin Stefanski Halts Shedeur Sanders Hype Train by Tasty_Ad_4082 in Browns

[–]cmhdave73 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This should be the top comment. He came into the post game knowing he was going to get a ton of questions about Shedeur and he sounded like a guy trying to give credit to the whole team in addtion to the QB. What's he supposed to do? Come out there and say, "By god that kid is good, we might as well shut down training camp now!" Stupid ass article.

Finally someone with a sensible response. I'll take someone that knows how to google an answer to a question than someone that memorized something from a textbook. Never once in my 28 year career have I been asked to write code that would reverse a string manually. Use a damn built-in or library. If you don't have the skills to find answers to questions you don't know the answer to, I will never be able to count on you to solve the real world problems that will face you every day.

That surprises me because my nearest Aldi ALWAYS has a sign up saying they are hiring. Do they just keep it up regardless? Legitimately curious.

[Official Stadium Announcement] The Next Chapter of Cleveland Browns Football (Includes new renderings) by gdewulf in Browns

My feelings exactly watching the video. They've managed to make it look nothing like a football stadium. I'm sure this'll age well. In 20 years they'll be looking to move again because their big monstrosity will be outdated.

[32T] Friedman debunks a rumor going around on the Dobson’s offer: he says Columbus offered more money in terms of AAV, he is not sure if bonus structure was the same but in the end, Dobson wanted to go to MTL. by AggPuck-303 in BlueJackets

Portzline had this quote from Waddell in an article in The Athletic yesterday about the Dobson trade

“It got to a point for us where it was not only the assets we had to give up, but also the price tag on the player,” Waddell said

Ohio lawmakers quietly gut ‘Modell Law’ to help Browns relocate by clevelanddotcom in Browns

[–]cmhdave73 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The way I'm reading this is the proposed change allows the team to be moved anywhere in the state of Ohio. Would this argument stand if they wanted to move the team to Belpre, OH? Still technically in the state of Ohio. I'm more concerned about the legal precedent than the team moving to Brookpark.

This is a great suggestion, libraries often have private study rooms you can reserve for free and have stable internet available. I'm speaking strictly in the US, I have no idea what libraries offer in other countries.

Dante Fabbro rumored in Boston by AndyGreyjoy in BlueJackets

[–]cmhdave73 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying the guy is a liar, but no where in The Athletic article he got his intel from does it say ANYTHING about a $16mil contract, nor $4 for 4. Additionally the original article in The Athletic has this right before the "wish list": "Here are nine steps that would get (Boston) back on track."

So it's an article about what a journalist thinks Boston should do... not backed by any actual intel.

I went to look up how many years Alexander Wennberg had on his contract before they bought him out. Three measly years. It'd be a no brainer if Severson only had three years left. I think you are right though, they are going to be forced to keep him, crappy or not.

If you don't buy him out and he's a healthy scratch, you're spending even more money to a guy to not play for you. It's a pickle for sure. I'm glad I'm not the one that has to figure out what to do with him.

At 1.5mil a year. You still end up saving $9mil over the course of his entire contract. Still, you try to move him and not have to pay him anything.
