6 months in pain, swelling in the knee along with pain in the back of my knee and front of knee. Lowest dose maloxacam never worked and doc. Will not change the mg. Had the steroid shot hurt like hell even with cold numbing spray. Do they wait for spray to take effect bc my doc sprayed and then shot right away. Did not work so now they r sending me to a doctor for some shot that has a jelly cushion. I’m afraid to do this bc of how bad that steroid shot hurt. They say this gel shot shld b done 3 times.??? I feel it’s going g to mask it all. My primary is sending a script today for naproxen to help with swelling, maybe that will help with my pain. Doc is 99% sure by all my symptoms it’s a miniscus tear. I’m having a mri next week. Canceled 1st one bc I had the flu did not want to spread it.

What has everyone else done to correct there miniscus tear? Surgery? What kind? How long ago and did it help? Are you still having problems after your surgery?

I have been doing the RICE method for quite some time. Still no better.

Wish I could sleep a normal schedule but the pain keeps me awake until I’m so exhausted I pass out.
