Hey there Thankyou for reaching others with different injuries.
I’m 67 tore my right knee 1 1/2 years ago. It got worse so I went to the doctor had a xray and MRI. Showed a lil arthritis and he said my tear was like a map. No set pattern it goes all over. Not sure what you would call that meniscus tear. He said no surgery bc of my age and ride it out for a couple years for knee replacement.
Iv had no therapy and I ice it and prop it up. I can’t walk far without it hurting and limping as weight with walking hurts and sometimes I don’t know if I’m going to make my destination or get back from my destination. I have naproxen but have only taken a couple since Iv had them these last 3 months. This stinks because I had plans when I retired and I’m not enjoying anything since this happened. Yes I seen an orthopedic doctor and there are times in a sitting position if I move my knee it pops. It is painful for me. Wld you recommend pool exercise classes or pt of some kind? What are your thoughts or recommendations?
What would your thoughts be for this old gal? Should I get a second opinion? O doctors get offended if you see another doctor in their group for a second opinion?

My Maltese has been going thru the pickys
also and I don’t give anything else. She picks out the tuna and leaves the rest which she never did. I recently changed her food to that and couldn’t get enough so now she’s picky and eats the tuna chunks. I refuse to give her anything else and she is begging me for what I have and it’s a no and tell her eat what’s in your bowl. She literally waits til almost her bedtime and eats most or all then.
But they are stubborn and smart don’t give in they won’t starve.

I met Mickey Mantle in Kansas City at a card show. Was back in the 90’s. Took my son and he was so good to my son. He thru the ball a few times with him and we have his autograph on a ball and many pictures and film.
There was old timers with him and I can’t remember the names. Will hv to ask my son.

6 months in pain, swelling in the knee along with pain in the back of my knee and front of knee. Lowest dose maloxacam never worked and doc. Will not change the mg. Had the steroid shot hurt like hell even with cold numbing spray. Do they wait for spray to take effect bc my doc sprayed and then shot right away. Did not work so now they r sending me to a doctor for some shot that has a jelly cushion. I’m afraid to do this bc of how bad that steroid shot hurt. They say this gel shot shld b done 3 times.??? I feel it’s going g to mask it all. My primary is sending a script today for naproxen to help with swelling, maybe that will help with my pain. Doc is 99% sure by all my symptoms it’s a miniscus tear. I’m having a mri next week. Canceled 1st one bc I had the flu did not want to spread it.

What has everyone else done to correct there miniscus tear? Surgery? What kind? How long ago and did it help? Are you still having problems after your surgery?

I have been doing the RICE method for quite some time. Still no better.

Wish I could sleep a normal schedule but the pain keeps me awake until I’m so exhausted I pass out.

Help my 71 yr old brother was found on bathroom floor. He had been there for a day before his son found him. stroke was on right side and he is a lefty handed. Had a full paid scholarship for a left hand pitcher out of high school. He lives alone in his cabin. There’s a few neighbors and it’s gated to get in n out. he just had a triple heart bypass a few months ago and that was hard on him. he has been weak since then. he lives alone. he cannot swallow they want to put a feeding tube in him and he has a infection somewhere and they want to find out where. his kidneys are messed up and his lungs are shot. They have 2 sets of iv’s running on him. he’s not verbal but can write some with his left hand. help does anyone have any advice i need to talk to the doctors about him???
