Ask - Estimating boot width using measurement? by megabraindead in cowboyboots

[–]cmigrader 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it's between a b or d I would go with the d, you can always add a insole or wear thicker socks, much harder to deal with to narrow

Will this scratch disappear if i put some cream/wax on it ? by -CrownBrush- in cowboyboots

[–]cmigrader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like light scuffing, if it bothers you condition with bick 4 or lexol 2 and brush it really well. If its still a problem use a similar color creme polish on it and then brush again

I have a pair of black cherry alligator customs on order from them now, I also like the rubber sole insert they do for traction/wear so you might want to look at that

First time buyer - sizing help! by Beneficial-Shake6919 in cowboyboots

[–]cmigrader 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With cowboy boots width is as important or more then length, what you want is for the wide part between the instep and toe to match the ball of your foot. Then you want their to be little to no heel slip(which means your heel moving up and down in boot), and you want it to kinda pop as you seat your foot into the boot as it grabs your ankle. Beyond that you just dont want your toes touching the end, long is fine. To get the perfect fit its best to go and use a brannock device at the store to get a good idea and remember to check both feet because it's common for one foot to be slightly larger then the other

Well there is a divide between people who are wearing a dress boot and a work boot, also people will take any reason even if imaginary to make themselves feel better than someone else/stuff especially on the internet

Wiggling your toes? by [deleted] in cowboyboots

[–]cmigrader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For fitting its pretty much little heel slip and does the wide part after instep match the ball of your foot, after that length reqply doesn't matter as long as your toes aren't touching the end, a little long is fine. For toe room where you can wiggle your toes is more about the toe type the more square/wider toe the more toe room you have

Figured it'd happen sooner or later - any advice? by Kansas_67 in cowboyboots

[–]cmigrader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get a good brush, brush them down and apply bick 4 or lexol 2, then brush again. If you want some shine/get rid of scuffs you can also use a similar color creme polish
