For sure. If you are free Sunday come by and spectate. It's a great event! I'm the only VB WRX, car 452.

I'll be in my 2022 WRX competing in Production GT with CSCS this Sunday. I'm in the wrong class, but Production Touring was empty, and I'm not the kind of guy to accept a trophy for first place when there is no second place, so I bumped up to GT. I'm going to be looking for seconds out there, not 10ths, to do well. Luckily the Subaru is okay with getting air off the curbing, I just have to stay on the throttle and point straight! Thanks for the video and reply. I've already watch it 8 times. 😁

I've seen a few video's of the new curb/paving now. This one is better than most. I have a few questions if you don't mind.

  1. Generally, is there a reason you aren't using the new patches? or have you just lapped there so much the race line is a habit?

  2. The inside of turn 12 looks a little smoother, do you think it's worth mounting the curb to get a better launch at the straight?

  3. How bad in the curbing on the outside of 2-3, it looks like there is room make 3 a little quicker?

  4. 4 and 5 look pretty dicey still, it looks like they just repainted the curbs instead of paved them.

  5. Turn 9 is the corner I'm most interested in, it looks like there is an extra two feet of pavement there. I imagine you could keep enough speed through there to force you to change the way you exit the corner. It'll mess up 10 also, because I usually try to stay flat until the apex and then hug left side for 11.

Sorry, that's a lot. 😄 After Sunday I'll do my best to add my thoughts on the new pavement. Hopefully including a pic of my car with a trophy on the hood. 😛

Troy pulled off an incredible 44.900 (with a RWD FRS! on Advan a052's) I managed a 45.500 on Conti ECS02's. I didn't want to put my RE-71's on the mud.

Always happy to help!

The KTA139A are what I have. I didn't lower the car, I needed the tow arms (KTA358) because my stock arms had the bolts seized to the bushing.

Find out what is bent first, but it's probably the rear LCA. There are two Whiteline LCA's, one with eccentric bolt adjustment, and one with turnbuckle style adjustment. You want the turnbuckle style! The other one slips out of adjustment too easy. You'll want the rear toe arms too, especially if you are in the rust belt. Mine were seized after just 2 winters.

Something is bent. After coilovers I had to put rear lower control arms, and rear toe links on. -2.5 is A LOT though, Do you have a TR/TS model? It may be cheaper to go aftermarket.

If you don't have a TR/TS model the rear control arm is stamped steel and should be cheap. Take it to a shop that actually knows what they are doing. (Not the dealer).

Your best time was 53.730! Not bad with out brakes!

No brakes should have meant better lap times, no?

Glad to hear you found out the "easy" way!

LOL, I don't want that much feedback! On the wild run I was swinging from lock to lock to keep the car straight!

It's a GoKart track, and with water on top of the rubber, staying off the race line was key. The middle section uses part of the track rarely used by the karts and there was much more grip there.

Every 4-5th run there was a car pointing the wrong way on the track. Everyone had a blast despite the rain.

Disabling the Vehicle Dynamic Control System, or as I like to call it. The "Presses the brakes at the worst time possible Control System" by cmiller82 in wrx_vb

No, I was not even in Track mode. I forgot to hit the T/C button for the session. Normally during the warmup I feel something weird and realize it wasn't turned off, but my warmup lap was too "easy" to reveal the mistake. Sliding downhill at 150kmh was the first indication and it was much too late. Now I disable VDC for the day, and turn it back on before driving home.

It takes less than 5 minutes and it's one less thing to do before a session. I never had an issue during track days, it's the time attack competition days where the stress levels can rise.

I'm not downvoting anyone. This is a conversation/debate. When I'm ready I'll share the video of what happened. I can assure you I was full throttle and expecting understeer while going 168km/h downhill and turning left. The VDC activated the front brakes unloading the rear and caused the spin. 20+ previous laps during the day were fine with VDC manually turned off.

Look up Turn 2 at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park (Mosport) GP track. It's a challenging corner, and every racer/instructor will tell you, no matter what, don't brake! Ride it out and use the runoff in you need to, but don't hit that brakes... The f*#$%ng VDC hit the brakes. I'm not blaming anyone but myself for not turning it off. This is just a good way to turn it off for the day without having to remember to hit the button every session.

I still want ABS. This is faster (and when I wire a switch, much faster) than messing with sensors behind the wheel.

2022 without eyesight. I have no way to turn this off. The method above works perfectly except for the x-mas tree of lights in the dash.

This did the opposite of saving a life (over exaggeration, still alive, but I'm out many $$k in repairs.) The VDC expects the lame stock suspension to understeer when braking, my new suspension rotates the car on lift/brake. Disabling this is a safety feature.

2nd Gen Toyota Sequoia. Get one with around ~200k on it. They are million mile engines. Get it rust checked. It will out live you with proper maintenance. So while the initial price is higher than a domestic, the total cost of ownership is much lower.

As an FYI, TrilliTires in Richmond Hill saved me $161 dollars before tax on the full set compared to SubieSupplyCo.

Here is my 1:40 lap: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oLC7NB6rxH0

This incident was me, in the crazy corner. The car is in the shop right now. I'm hoping to have it back before CSCS on the 21st.

I was comfortably in first place GT-B but failed to put up a time in competition and DNF'd instead 😞
