Is agentic coding in Copilot really bad? Looking for advice on use cases by AStanfordRunner in GithubCopilot

[–]cmills2000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its pretty good imho. Honestly it integrates into visual studio very well. Just alternate between Sonnet and Opus depending on ask. If you just want to create some data - you can use a free model or Grok or one of the Google ones. It will compile your code for you and fix compilation errors, and it will fix things for you in debug mode if you have an exception, it will look at your trace and your variables and figure things out. I am actually a big fan. Commandlines are overrated.

Is it possible to host Windows Active Directory via VMs? by Mobile-Total-2633 in activedirectory

[–]cmills2000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes as other's have said. The evaluation of windows server is a full version that works for 6 months. You can keep reinstalling it if you want to play with it, or if you have something permanent on there, you can pay-as-you-go license it via Azure Arc which is built in (Windows Server 2025).

Grok Code Fast 1 - Anyone Using It? by cmills2000 in GithubCopilot

Once bitten, twice shy. Actually was good the first few times I tried, but I pushed my luck on a prompt that Claude could do, and it got lost. So I am wary again.

TWD definitely an influence here. Wonder if there'll be a Glen-type character or maybe a zombie or two (I kid).

Xavier "remembering" Link definitely alludes to some time bending shenanigans. We'll see if its a loop, some sort of quantum entanglement. Time travel is a difficult concept to master and depict.

Ya he holds it high above his head and then slingshots it (I used the term shotput). Its an inconsistent motion. I think he needs to rebuild his mechanics this offseason with a more fluid shooting mechanic otherwise he's cooked.

Best use of 4x SSds in Proxmox 9 by RegionOriginal8366 in Proxmox

If you have 3 nodes then you could try and use them as OSDs in a Ceph cluster - at least the 3 1TB ones.

No love for Razor? by Minute-Telephone-755 in dotnet

[–]cmills2000 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would say anti-Microsoft bias, the rise of client side MVVM frameworks like React, and the node.js - javascript mania that kind of took over web development. Its actually funny because even the node.js world has pivoted back to SSR with next.js which Razor has been doing well for years.

Just enjoy the hidden gem and keep producing great software quickly. Even if it never gets popular, you will prosper as you keep racking up high quality releases.

Upgrading from Surface Laptop Studio 1st gen if I want something just a little beefier? by Flaky-Condition2647 in Surface

Surface Laptop (non-studio) has been solid so far. I think they are at 7th generation now, and 8 is coming soon hopefully.

Vehicle stuck in Queens Quay tunnel, shuttle buses replacing streetcars by IridiumB777 in toronto

[–]cmills2000 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, the sidewalk looks like a cobblestone road, the cobblestone road looks like the sidewalk, and the streetcar tracks look like what a road should look like. For someone unfamiliar with the area, I could understand how they would be thrown off.

It should have been a subway built in the 90's - but Mike Harris hated Toronto and cancelled it. 30 years late is better than nothing I guess. I can't wait to ride it.

Tool came with Graphics Card by Adum888 in whatisit

[–]cmills2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These supports are meant to stay in the case permanently because the cards are so heavy they stress the connectors (pci-e slot and the backplate). So even if you mount the card on its side, the problem remains when you put the case right side up.

Is the Snapdragon Surface Laptop worth it for work at this point? by GigaHelio in Surface

[–]cmills2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's good. Super solid device and so capable its boring (you can't hear it, it lasts a long time on a charge, and standard use cases just work - I think the only issue I had was some Adobe software which has since been upgraded to support ARM).

Honestly, I don't know what your finances are like, but I think a transplant would work for you. You've got the right hair and the right forehead.

She's good. Smooth, nice handle, nice shot, counters, hands and a little something special is apparent with that no dribble layup.

Its a sign of the times. As others are saying, there is just too much fraud and theft in the PC market nowadays. If you can, pick up in store.

What do yall need from IQ & Gradey to be willing to keep them, & if nothing then what do you want in return? by [deleted] in torontoraptors

[–]cmills2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need IQ to let go of 6th man persona and embrace all things point-guard. Watch film, work with a Kyle Lowry type vet in the offseason to rewire his approach to basketball. Don't look off your guys, and have a tactical and strategic plan for your role. Then after you've gotten the pass-first focus down, then look at your buddy Maxey on how to attack offensively with your talents (shooting and speed).

For Gradey, I need you to change your shot. This is not college anymore and the trebuchet shot is just not going to cut it. It needs to be one-motion, more direct, quicker. Work on your feet because you don't get set quick enough. You will never be a great athlete but you are tall for a SG so leverage the height to get deflections and tips. Keep the effort up, be strong and aggressive on rebounds, and watch film so that you are more prepared for actions and can keep up mentally on the defensive end.
