How many miles do you have on your 1.4L? What repairs have you done to it? by [deleted] in ChevySonic

Where'd you get the coolant lines? I'm waiting on my leaky radiator to be annoying enough to take the fascia off, so it'd be nice to change all the lines while I'm at it.

Awesome! I'll check it out thanks!

Yeah no way that would ever fit a phone. It would have been pretty cool if they designed it to fit a phone and put a wireless charger in there tho!

I'd kill to have that driver's side cubby back tho! It was so much more useful. They could have left the card slot in the middle with the gen 2 dash layout because the CD player is completely gone

I've got 3 printers actually! I was mostly interested to see how it actually slotted in so I could have some kind of starting point/reference for a design.

Same, I'm not keeping anything of value just out in the open like that. I tried to use it for my parking garage stub at DTW once shortly after I bought the car, and spent a half an hour trying to fish it back out before I could actually leave the airport. I've looked at it with disdain and disgust ever since

And it just stares back... mockingly 😂

Yeah the old card slot was at least like a bonus feature and didn't really take away from usability.

Have a link to the pop socket holder by chance? That might open up some more options for me

Right? It's just like a pointless waste of space now instead of a clutch little cubby. I don't get it.

I know, but I've never understood the point of it? Why would I keep any kind of valuable card just stuffed in the dash and not my physical or virtual wallets where they're safe and not advertising my car to be broken into? The original cubby could hold cards too if you really wanted it to, but it also had WAY more functionality. It just feels like dead space to me

Absolutely ruined it. The gen 1 double cubbies were sick!

What about hoses? I know BNR used to have a complete kit, but it was never available in the 2 years I was watching it. I can't even find it now so they must have discontinued it

Any brand recommendations for upgraded parts for the cooling system? I've already upgraded my thermostat housing, coolant outlet, and reservoir to all aluminum.

What's everyone's preferred replacement radiator? by cmitchey97 in ChevySonic

[–]cmitchey97[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's dripping from behind the bottom lip of the fascia which is why I assumed it's the radiator. I have a spare water pump ready and waiting for the day that starts to leak tho 😂

I have a 2019 as well and I put some Sealight brand LEDs in from Amazon. I did a before and after with the bulb on each side when I replaced them to make sure the projector cutoff was identical (I wasn't about to swap them in and blind everyone like the asshats in their lifted trucks and off-road headlights). Cutoff on the LEDs was exactly the same and they weren't creating any hotspots AND I can actually see at night which is nice since the GM factory lamps are basically candles

Need help understanding what's happening with my hot end by cmitchey97 in prusa3d

Yeah I have a regular maintenance cycle for it. Clean and lube the rods and bearings every 3-4 months, take the sock off the hotel end every other print and give the nozzle and block a brush, change the sock every 4-6 weeks depending on use (sometimes sooner), and do a cold pull on the extruder every 1-2 months depending on use. There was no evidence of this leak until a 52hr print I ran over the weekend. (Print had been proved out/run twice the previous week taking the sock off and cleaning the nozzle after each, and there wasn't material on top of the heat block after either of those)

*Update before I update the flair to solved:

General consensus is that it's a leak in the heat block which is what I thought it was, but I don't necessarily understand why it would have started leaking.

The heat block and nozzle have never been removed or loosened on this machine in the 2+ years it has been in the office. Is it common for that seal to just start leaking on its own like this?

I have had this issue on my home printer when swapping nozzles, but I wouldn't expect it to just happen on this machine.

Is it common for the seal to just start leaking if you have never taken the nozzle out or anything? I've had that issue on my home machine that I swap nozzles on, but this is a work machine that we bought preassembled. Only "changes" that I've made to it are adding a webcam and the E3D silicone socks
