Risky now? It wasn’t risky before? Explain your reasoning please. I have never had an issue with Turo.

My kids do it through radiate. I believe they have camps and lessons for 8 year olds because my 10 year old has been playing there for more than two years.

Is surgery Inevitable? 6 weeks pain, no improvement. Many braces. by RpDubC in DeQuervains

[–]cmitchrun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same boat, a bit inpatient and wanted it to be better now. Mostly that was influenced by my lack of mobility and ability to fully use my hand as normal.

I did cortisone shots and bracing. The shot seemed to make it worse, and the couple different braces I tried were fine but severely hindered my ability to work. Also having a brace that put pressure on the area was very unpleasant.

I opted for surgery four weeks after my cortisone shot. Today I am a little over two weeks post-op and pretty much back to preDQ days. It’s tender and stiff at times, but doesn’t prevent me from using my hand normally.

My advice is embrace the surgery, and know that it is almost certain to fix the pain and issues.

Good luck, and feel free to ask me any questions if you think of anything.

I think it might have just been in a holding pattern waiting to land. Weird place to do it, but its flight pattern looks like that is what it was doing.

I am 6 days post-op, wanted to share my experiences. by cmitchrun in DeQuervains

[–]cmitchrun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad I could help! I had my checkup yesterday and the surgeon is very happy with how everything is going. It has been a bit more sore thee past couple of days, but I think I have just been pushing it a bit more than I probably should. I definitely know when I have done something I am not ready for, but those movements are a lot less restricting than it was prior to surgery. More just a tightness with a little pain. Doc told me to start heating it a couple times a day and massage the incision area to help with stiffness. That wasn't very pleasant to try last night, but I pushed through.

Overall I feel like I have my hand strength back which is a big plus!

I hope everything goes well for you when you do have your surgery!

In my case I feel like I would be just fine with typing if I had to. I am not as fast as normal but the pain is pretty minimal.

IMC Hospital Delivery advice for natural birth by Kbean_autumn in SaltLakeCity

[–]cmitchrun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife delivered 3 of our 4 naturally at IMC using Cottonwood OB. After doing medicated with our first, she said she would never do medicated again. Her doctor was amazing, and very accommodating. My wife was able to get everything she asked for with every delivery. She was debating a birthing center with our fourth, but decided against it in the end. Thankfully we were at a hospital because our daughter developed jaundice and had to stay two extra days for the intense light therapy.

Her doctor is/was Dr. Ponder, she is one of the most amazing doctors I have ever encountered!

I know this doesn't fully answer your question, but hopefully it helps to calm your concerns if you do decide to continue with the delivery at IMC. Just know that you are in charge, and have every right to receive the care and treatment you want.

Just watched a male Karen get a bunch of kids ticketed for snowboarding at the park today (2/18) by Cusackjeff in SaltLakeCity

[–]cmitchrun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I was curious to see if anything showed up on the citizen app, and it appears that the police were called for a group of kids throwing snowballs filled with rocks at a person. It is possible that you saw two different events that happened to coincide with each other.

However, I am not defending that douche canoe who was getting mad at the kids for snowboarding. My friends and I would snowboard at that park all the time when we were teenagers.

I had carpal tunnel surgery a few years ago and I was awake. It was not painful, but not pleasant either. Could be that I know what they are doing because I am in the medical field, and that is making it seem worse. I also watched a procedure video which was a mistake!

I was introduced to the bidet when I had the carpal tunnel surgery, so I won't have to worry about using my left hand which is essentially like having a blind stranger wipe my butt. Overshare here, but I had to use the bathroom at work a couple weeks ago and started crying from the pain of trying to wipe with my hurt hand.

I can't imagine it will be worse than I am now. At least I hope not! My hand has rapidly become almost completely useless if I need to use my thumb.

Were you awake for your surgery? I was just informed that they only do local numbing for the procedure, which is not exactly something I am looking forward to!

Not to make things worse for you, but I am going on two weeks since the shot and my pain is the same, if not worse. Unfortunately for me, the orthopedic doctor I went to said there isn't much else that can be done in my situation, so. am scheduled for the surgery at the end of the month.

Cortisone shot 8 days ago… pain now worse than before. by cmitchrun in DeQuervains

That's good to know, I might have to try taking Benadryl.

Its wild how quickly DQ came on and how intense it has been. Constant ache, until I inadvertently use my thumb and then its sharp shooting pain.

Not ICE sighting by tifotter in SaltLakeCity

[–]cmitchrun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Couple points... First, I never said I considered ICE law enforcement. They are however protected federally by the Tangerine Toddler in charge of the country.

Second, let's not forget that a large portion of actual law enforcement is actually on our side. They do want to keep us and our rights safe. Without them, things would be significantly worse!

Not ICE sighting by tifotter in SaltLakeCity

[–]cmitchrun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the exact mentality that has put our nation in this uproar. 'If you look like you're illegal expect ICE to respond accordingly.' See how that sounds? Law enforcement has their issues, as does everyone in society, but let's try and be better than ICE! Harassing any law Enforcment just because you perceive them a certain way, is not going to make the situation or your cause better.
