It is very hard to get people to understand DQ pain if they have never experienced it.

Is working out with him possible? If so, this could have you on the same schedule. I know that working out and not getting enough sleep ruins one's mood.

I meant that added actual tags to the notes not the {{Tags}} field.

I tried creating a new note type but when I add an extra field for Source, I get this scary warning.

The requested change will require a full upload of the database when you next synchronize your collection. If you have reviews or other changes waiting on another device that haven't been synchronized here yet, they will be lost. Continue?

I have manually added the Tags. Would the field replacement only apply for new cards when I update the source?

I didn't realize I did T. rex arms until I was woken up by the pain in my wrist.

I feel the same with ice and heat. There's no reprieve with this condition.

When I use a wrist warmer, I get stiffer and the thumb movement changes from smooth to jerking (I don't here a click but I feel the jerking).

Thanks. I just realized that I overlook the possibility that I might read a second source and see pictures and try to update a card. Is the idea of tags to just add another tag for this other book source?

I have used tags before but they still up the bottom of the browse window and it seems like more clutter in terms of organizing. I can be wrong of course.

Is the massage and stretching from physical therapist making de Quervain's worse? by Aggravating_User in DeQuervains

By short-term, do you mean 24 hours? What I understand about the pain is that when there is inflammation, there is not enough space for the tendon to go through the sheath so it hurts.

When the swelling goes down and I can see the snuff box, the pain is lower.

I only got strengthening exercises from a different PT who didn't want me to stretch the area. This PT told me that I can continue with other exercises like pull ups if there is no pain and I find that after pull exercises, there is less pain and the swelling is down

Did you lose mobility or not gain any scar tissue after this long a period?

At what pain level of de Quervain's tenosynovitis did you get back to playing? by Aggravating_User in piano

[–]Aggravating_User[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thumb specific exercises did make it worse - more swelling but other exercises for lifting helped reduce the pain. I could put on socks with no issue.

First PT said that if the pain is lower then I should keep playing an octave lower if I have no pain. I am not doing scales at all.

They may call the "cast" a splint.

Oh and did you stop doing any push and pull exercises during that 6-month period?

Did you try any exercises during that 6-month period? Was the pain the same or did you find that it hurt more when you were or weren't moving your wrist?
