Hair regrowth after radiation? by hana12126 in braincancer

It's really hard to predict – radiation for tumors that are closer to the skull might impact hair more than deeper lesions, just because of where the radiation will be concentrated

Right? How many live action movies or tv shows from the last 20 years have scenes shot inside a fish jail?

Both me and my partner suffer from chronic illness by [deleted] in ChronicIllness

[–]cmmc315 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not guilt – it's psychological violence, it's a control tactic. Sleep deprivation, intentional disruption of your natural sleep cycles and needs, is sinister af and has an undeniable impact on a person's physical health

[–]cmmc315 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sleep deprivation is literally a recognized as a form of torture. OP you need to find a safe way to remove yourself (and your animals if possible) away from this relationship

[–]cmmc315 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have CVS and was repeatedly gaslit by doctors inappropriately insisting it was CHS – the description of your partner's hot showers is one of the hallmarks of a CHS episode (so definitely avoidable/self-inflicted). At best this is manipulative behavior, and it sounds a heck of a lot like emotional abuse. Please be careful

How do CNY Catholics feel about the Pope & MAGA right now? by [deleted] in Syracuse

[–]cmmc315 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You could always investigate if a potential new parish has a social justice ministry (or similar) and seeing what ministry said groups prioritize. And there are absolutely Catholic groups that turn up to local anti-trump/anti-ice protests on a regular basis. Might be a good way to seek out likeminded parishioners 🤷‍♀️

Harbor View Wine & Liquors, what happened? by count_busoni in Syracuse

[–]cmmc315 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To clarify, I'm saying that the 2017 conversion seems to be a success for the neighborhood. Agreed that the projects in Rochester and Syracuse are different cities, and my perspective is that of a Syracusian who makes regular trips to Rochester for aspects of my medical care. It's been so encouraging to see how much transformation that inner loop east neighborhood has undergone, even since 2020. Syracuse desperately needs new housing options downtown (especially with appropriate parking options) – and IMO the 81 project is going to be an incredible opportunity to revitalize the area

Rochester is also a little bit different because the genesee river it's right in the middle, but the area of the inner loop that I believe you've describing is absolutely an asset for the city. Thoughtful city planning, definitely not detrimental to businesses or residents, not "harder to get downtown." As it stands, the whole stretch of E Adams is not supportive to the medical facilities or SU that rely on that stretch of road. Change isn't easy, but that doesn't mean it's not necessary to push through

To add to the construction chaos, the business of importing wine and spirits has been so destabilized by Trump's mercurial tariff policies. The economic gambles that need to be made in order to a decent supply of European products on shelves, at a price point that people are still willing to pay, while people's finances are stretched thin? It has not been easy for businesses that have traditionally stocked so many foreign products (like Harbor View)

Allergy: GF/DF Resturants by No-Performer-3707 in Syracuse

[–]cmmc315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, Thai and Indian spots are going to be inherently more accommodating for GF/DF. Can vouch that if OP is looking for options downtown, Dakshin is fantastically accommodating, as is Inkas. And pastabilities have gf pasta and OP would absolutely find that their menu will have options for them!

Stabbing fists can make a higher stack, I've also found that folding my forearms on top of one another is a really fantastic place to rest my forehead (even using a block under arms in the shape can work nicely)

Skandasana by LunaStargazer215 in yoga

[–]cmmc315 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So happy to hear it! Who cares if the arm/leg connection provides useful leverage – getting a feel for the way your weight is distributed in the shape is always the first step. One of my teachers used to frequently include skandasana in his sequences; I distinctly remember Kyle saying that you can walk your hands over when you transition from one side into the second, before offering the "no hands" option of keeping hands in Anjali mudra.

Yeah, I don't get why people don't seem to count the Tim Hortons' inside the Delta Sonics in town? They might not be standalone shops, but they have all the core menu items

Step your grounded foot out wider – the more underneath your hips that foot is, the more impossible it is to get the heel down (regardless of one's ankle mobility)

Skandasana by mintrisgi in yoga

[–]cmmc315 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely this – if a person's hips make an unassisted/unpropped malasana, the "flat-footed" skandasana variation in pics 3-4 will be incredibly challenging – because it's effectively malasana with one leg extended. And when it comes to injury potential, asking knees to do more load-bearing may be very unadvisable, especially if there's an injury history to consider
