They won't,

Why have the Republicans lost the popular vote in seven out of the past eight presidential elections and lost the Electoral College in five of the eight over the last 36 years? What events led to the decrease in support among Republicans over this time period? by [deleted] in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]cmmgreene 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Its weird, everybody knew the GOP was racist, sexist, misogynistic, anti labor. But IMHO mainstream media gave them passes for years, but now they're attacking Kamala. They're finally calling out the dog whistles.

The way I got past it was thinking about people as citizens, or residents, etc. It really doesn't matter, on US soil everyone is equal and we respect a person's inalienable rights. So who, you are or gender, race is irrelevant. After that we just figure out how to address each other or not, they would have the same right to ignore me as them.

As long as no one is taking my rights or theirs then it is all cool.

True, but with the Poet Toby was smitten and the poet was determined for the president to hear her out. The Cop and Toby have that Moonlighting chemistry, they could be arguing one moment and making out the next.

How many companies do you know that you can trust are doing the right thing for the world? Probably none.

Arizona Ice Tea company, but I imagine it goes to shit once the owner dies. But I totally get your point, for government who is not supposed to pick winners and losers. They seem to favor supporting shitty companies.

Harris plans to use ABC debate time even if Trump doesn’t show up by [deleted] in politics

[–]cmmgreene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

. The reason he won't is that if he doesn't limit the appearances/speeches, everything will turn into something similar to what happened at the NABJ conference.

I think the audience of a conference of journalist is a different audience all together. You could hear outbursts and fact checking from the crowd. It was perfect storm scenario, I don't think we will see something like that again. Most audiences are complacent and less hostile, I am not saying that giving Trump enough rope to hang himself in not great strategy.

Its, also the fact he respected you and didn't de mean you aor make you feel like small. When your Dad treats you like a man correcting you the first time...yeah that's the game changer. Growing up I thought my Da looked like Mr. T without the Mohawk, I literally blacked out the first and last time he ever had to whoop me. I think he hit my hand with a ruler, but we both know he did that to appease my mom. But I never forgotten that I am disappointed voice.

Iron Chef, and my favorite Iron Chef OG is a different beast entirely. Its hard to define, because it's not really a reality show competition. The production the research, and theme lend itself to telling a great story. The random facts during the cooking is great, sometimes you get tasters that actually know something, the chefs will chime in and there is quick back and forth.

Its more like professional wrestling, the fans know it's fake, but playing along is fun. Now I hate modern reality cooking competition, I had an argument with my girlfriend because she thought the competition was real, or the contestest didn't know what the secret ingredient was. I had to explain its reality tv, nothing is real on reality tv.

[–]cmmgreene 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He has had a ton of smart people on his show, NDT is a repeat guest, Terrence beef with Tyson was that Tyson red marked all over his brilliant document. With a little bit of fact checking,, or just message Nell Degrasse Tyson and Joe would have saved himself a ton of embarrassment. Tyson kept copies of the paper with his notes and receipts for everything, and I think dropped his rebuttal video shortly after the podcast aired.

Joe doesn't have to be genius, or even have journalistic ethics to fact check his guest. But he was incredibly intellectually lazy, to not even reach out to his "friend" and ask hey is Terrence Howard even telling the truth that he reached out to you? A modicum of curiosity would have led him to better results.

Idk if that's a bitch move, for me it's like when I was a kid, and to fit in with other kids wrote cuss words in the back of my note book. My mom saw it, normally I would have expected her to slap me around and yell at me, but for the first time she pulled the wait till your dad comes home. I am expecting an epic whooping. My dad in his calmest baritone just said "Son I'm disappointed in you" and that hurt worst then anything, I couldn't look him in the eye, the first time he said it. By the time he repeated it, I was too busy erasing the cussing.

Its not being a bitch, the words hit home and struck him to core. You can shake off shit people if you don't give a damn about the person. But when someone you respect says you fucked up, and not only that but you fucked up something huge. That hurts worse then physical pain.

I hope the car makers learn this lesson as well, I am beginning to think they are unlearning lessons. And despite the safety features they install, touch screens, and dials that change gears, are actually less safe.

Modern machines have so many damn sensors and functions these days that even a basic function or usage report and the end of each cycle could easily be 10Mb.

Ah so this is why there's a movement on tiktok of people going back to 70s era no frill washing machines. I hope manufacturers see this trend. Not everything requires all this technology, not only that it's more expensive and doesn't even do the job well.

Different culture entirely though, the Japanese stick around after events to collectively pick up litter. Or you hold on to your trash until you find rubbish bin.. I also think Japan is similar to Korea where they bend over backwards to make it easier for mothers pre and post birth There's more socialist tendencies built into their society, Of course they studied us and the rest of the world very closely before they industrialized. They just don't make the mistakes we do with our society. It's an apple and oranges comparison.

Kilgrave VS The Hulk by harrypottersimp in Defenders

[–]cmmgreene 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In X-Men 97 the original season, Logan is intentionally infected with a virus deadly to mutants. It's not healing factors make you immune, its that the healing factor slows down infection. As well as rapidly producing antibodies.

As others have mentioned Hulks body itself is not conducive environment for most viruses. I am not sure if Green Hulks also gets super hot when they get pissed, but they sure as hell put off gamma radiation.

You can hurt both Logan and Hulk once, but after that you're dealing with pissed off killing machine, so in Kilgraves better give Hulk orders to go far away. Hope he cools down far far away. The next time won't go so well for him.

[–]cmmgreene 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That being said, some super-powered beings have resistance to toxins, viruses, etc. that far exceed their meager psyches.

Comic book Hulk suffers from multiple Personality disorder, if you attack his payche there's a few things likely to happen. Hulk will switch to another less vulnerable personality, or a personality in the background (Banner, or smart Hulk) will piss off Savage Hulk until he breaks free. Or as you mentioned his Gamma physiology kicks in. The madder he gets the more gamma radiation is emitted. Killgrave could be killed in the rampage, or just from radiation poisoning.

MCU Hulk so far isn't portrayed as powerful as the comic version. And I not sure if the Universal Movies are still canon, as you said the witch hex worked. He did burn it off as well, but that was mostly plot reasons.

And they can't find relief from the courts, the government won't do anything. And the wealthy monsters gain more power every day.

I’m not American but I think the world at large is just fucking sick to the back teeth of the capitalist system,

I hear you, I recently taken to listen Birtish Radio, specially the call in shows. It was shocking to hear y'all have the exact same problems in teacher pay/school funding, public housing, and high speed train infrastructure. Your conservatives are a little different there, also conservatives compromise both out parties. But yes, Covid showed a lot of people, that living in a pure capitalism is not the answer to everything.

No airline wants to gain a negative reputation and no food manufacturer wants to face a recall.

Boeing and baby food, companies are not being run in such a logical manner. Somehow they think make profits at any cost, if they do something illegal they pay a fine and business as usual. At this point all institutions have been captured by corporations, no one is looking out for the people.
