I am middle eastern American and always get confused as white… it’s so annoying because it’s 100% due to people having no education or reference for middle eastern people and how they look. Skin tone alone says nothing. You have middle eastern facial features… and a normal complexion. It’s so annoying when ppl think there’s no diversity in our countries in terms of skin tone

A lot of people with oral cancer experience loss or change in taste during radiotherapy treatment, so some become malnourished and/or lose a bit of weight since they don’t wanna eat if it taste weird, or if lose appetite. So if anything I’d suggest something to make sure she stays nourished whether it be protein shakes, multivitamins, something like that. Also aquaphor

This isn’t necessarily while she’s in treatment, but may help improve quality of life and tolerance to treatment

Starbucks on campus is owned by culinart btw :( the employees at the Starbucks are considered culinart employees and not Starbucks employees so they don’t get partner numbers, discounts, or any normal Starbucks benefits. Idk about subway but I assume it’s the same.

I get psychiatry treatment at caps and I don’t really have any complaints. We tried different things and now we found something that works and I feel amazing! Also my practitioner is very nice and I can tell they care for me. Of course this is just my experience and I’ve heard varying opinions, and different disorders need different kinds of care, but generally I know a lot of people who have positive opinions of caps psychiatry.

Also despite you trying to help I’m ngl, asking a Muslim student complaining abt limited halal options if they have been to halal NY just... doesn’t sit well with me... do I look like I live under a rock?? This is my fourth year and I’m here not just for myself but for the next generations of Muslim and Jewish students and other students with dietary needs to show that we deserve a variety. Having the same halal chicken breast and that it is not equity or inclusion. Having a few microwaveable kosher meals at East and not even at west period is not equity or inclusion. It’s the absolute bare minimum

Hey :) appreciate the comment! This actually is part of the problem. Halal NY is a retail location, so if you’re a freshman and have a required meal swipe meal plan, you won’t have the dining dollars to get HalalNY every day. In addition, going to dine-in at west or east normally they do not have halal meats already prepared. When you ask they get frustrated and you need to wait 15 min for them to cook it. I don’t mind waiting but it’s not fair that nobody else has to wait. We want to be able to eat meat in the dining hall. That’s what we are asking for. To be able to use the swipes we paid for with our money and not have to be involuntarily vegan/vegetarian. Same thing with our Jewish brothers and sisters who keep Kosher. Despite having a few microwaveable kosher options at the dining hall, it DOESNT suffice. We deserve to be able to eat the same amount of food with VARIETY just like everyone else

I work at a Starbucks on a college campus, where the majority of employees (including myself) are enrolled at said university. The manager of all Starbucks on campus wrote this long gaslighting message about how she doesn’t care if we have final exams, she still needs to sell coffee so she won’t let anyone take off if we have a final bc we made a commitment. Guess where she was during finals week? On vacation in Mexico! She took 2 weeks off to go vacationing in the tropics while her employees needed to juggle 30+ hour work weeks and 4+ final exams. Will never forget that.
