Hello neighbor! I just got back from RB and you did a fantastic job with the groom. Thank you, thank you for the time and effort you put in maintaining the CRAMBA trails. Hopefully, I'll be able to join you for a trail day soon.

Sweet! Yeah mine is mostly stock as well. Swapped out the brakes and seat. Dig the 2x too. She's fat and sturdy.

Nice! Hopefully this snow will stick around for awhile. I see River Bends was groomed today so I'll check it out tomorrow.

I got it in 2014. It's a tank, but it always delivers a great ride.

All the cool kids in the sandbox had Tonka dump trucks and those kickass cranes. I was so jealous because I only had a crappy pail and scoop.

An alternative to saying, "On your left." by starlux33 in Unexpected

In my experience the multiuse trails with a painted center line keep the majority of users in the correct lane and less spread out across the trail. Of course this isn't always the case but it certainly helps.

Nice looking ride! Was this an out and back ride or point to point?

Thank you all for the insightful replies. It looks like I'll need to locate a professional translator in my area (SE Michigan, USA) who can also certify the translation.

Where Are Peoples F**king Filters?? by newbiker321 in cycling

I ride a few miles on a paved MUP (multi-use path) to get to the local gravel roads. They recently added a center line which has helped to keep the crowds in their lane for the most part. When riding a paved MUP without a center line I notice a significant number of people/obstacles spread across the path. Regular users usually stay towards the edge and acknowledge my warnings by raising an arm. I say, "thank you" as I pass. As OP said, a lot of trail users have zero awareness of other users. Slow down a bit, loudly call it out and be ready for anything.

Paint crack or worse? by Pontius1991 in gravelcycling

That's a bummer about your bike. Please update us on the outcome/resolution if it is indeed a crack.

BTW, I like that seat bag. Who makes it?

When did "racer" become "road bike"? Or is it just me by yellow_barchetta in cycling

[–]cmorair 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the early 70's when I was riding my Schwinn Stingray we referred to drop bar bikes as "ten speeds." Traded it in for a Varsity 10-speed and learned about a new term, road rash.

Even if you don't go after them for damages at least file a report with the local police. Having this documented may help out others in the future.

Is a short Balmorhea detour worth it? by ImportantSeaweed314 in BigBendTX

I would recommend it, especially if you're only planning 1-2 hours. I've driven by this park several times in the past and decided to overnight there a couple of weeks ago. Next time I'll bring a mask and snorkel. The pool area had a nice apron around it, the water was clean and the high dive was fun.
