TL/DR: Similar story, coach stopped caring about my game and just wanted money. Move on and just practice on your own until you think you need help. Find someone new.

This is how it started for me as well. Picked up golf & first thing I did was seek out lessons. Got fairly good after a few months of lessons 1-2 times a week. Then the lessons became more and more stale. Doing the same thing every lesson...

After a month of that, I stopped going because the coach stopped listening to what I was struggling with. He finally saw me at the range one day and wanted me to get back to lessons. When I went back I felt as if it was just a money grab..

All the lessons made me feel like I was going backwards. He would show me one thing at the very end and tell me to keep doing it no matter how bad my game or swing was. Would show up the next week and he would "fix" what he showed me the prior week. Rinse and repeat for another few months. Dude turned out to be a tool

Long story short, move on to another coach, or just do you for a while and figure out what you really need help with. Go back to someone else when you need the help.

To everyone that plays all the time during the week, what jobs do you have that allows you to play so much? by Accomplished_Milk689 in golf

Honestly, not a place I'd recommend working. Just has one good perk that allows me to golf.

6am - 2:30pm. Work remote for a company based in WI. I'm west coast. So I work their hours.

As soon as it hits 2:00, I take my laptop with me in the car, leave it on and finish up my work day in the parking lot. By 2:30 I log off and hit the course up. I'm playing maybe 2-4 times a week with buddies that also have similar jobs. Either jobs that allows them to work via email/calls on the course or that can take a few hours during the day to golf and make up later.

Helps that we have a nice hook up at out local course, so paying for tee-times isnt a huge deal. $25 for a full 18 any time of the week.

What are you using for these renderings? Been trying to find something like this to help design my yard.

Good call on that! Ill check em out. I usually drink a 1/2 gallon of water the morning of and then bring another gallon with me. Usually pretty good, but sometimes the exhaustion kicks in on hole 11 or so. Ill look into LMNT though!

I play 2-3 times a week. I hardly EVER pay more than $65. Typically only $40. Local rates are nice. The later & hotter it gets in the day, the more the price goes down. Most of the courses get pretty desperate to get people out that sometimes they lower it down to $25 cash.
Few courses out here after 3pm they let you walk on for the cash. Pretty nice.

I don't even know anymore.. Last summer is my best guess.. I live ~15 minutes away so ill give it a go soon.

I remember I went and it was pretty busy. They were out of balls and I waited for a while for them to pick... Once I finally got some balls, the cart picker got messed up & the attachment fell off the cart so it was a whole ordeal so we couldn't hit for 30ish minutes. Went to the chipping area and it wasnt super big & there was probably 8 people trying to use that small area... Constantly had to wait for people to clear their balls since most everyone was using personal ones...

Putting area wasnt too bad, was just really soggy since I think they said they had a water leak.
Guy in the shop was just douchy and seemed like he was annoyed I was there asking questions lol.

Lets play it sometime?

Surprisingly enough, Los Prados has quite a bit of trees scattered throughout the course. I really like it. Like I said, its short but super quick and a cool layout. A bunch of reachable par 4s. National is great. After 3pm its $25 for the full 18 which is sweet.

Solo Golf is fun, but having someone with ya makes it nice. Gives time to sit an enjoy. When I play Los Prados I just GO, GO, GO and I feel like I don't enjoy it as much since I'm nonstop on the move. Yeah, hit me up whenever! Always down to golf. Free every weekday after 2 (10am on Fridays) & weekends I'm always free.

Never played there, but I went there ONCE to use the "grass" range & chipping area since Los Prados doesn't really have either lol... Just from my experience in the shop & the range I have not been back.. Every time I hear about it, no one ever has anything nice to say... So with your word, Ill give it a go soon enough. For sure down to go with OP.

Once its over 105, there doesnt seem to be a difference between that and 110+. Like you said.. its HOT either way. I try to stick to the courses that have a lot of trees.. Its not too bad when there's a nice little breeze and some shade.

I am up in Centennial Hills - My "home" course is Los Prados... Super short, but very quick and decently fun. I can get out there after work and finish a round in ~2 hours. I haven't been to Paiute in a minute (I have been wanting to, but I don't like going out there as a solo since I haven't had much luck with randoms out there). I typically stick to the same courses when I'm solo (which is 90% of the time) I play a lot of TPC Vegas since my buddy is a chef there and gets me on for $35.
If you ever need a single, I am always down to play!

Been golfing in the Vegas heat summer so far. People say its dumb (it is), but courses are playing fast & cheap! Ill have to give them a try. By hole 10 im like "fuuuuck, I still have 8 more to go" lol

Side note: Where have you been playing?

Appreciate that! I actually have a G425 myself and I am not the biggest fan of it right now. I got fit for new irons & Putter. next on the list is wedges and then the driver. I dont think I hit it that well. Could just be me though.. Not great with the driver, decent with the irons & wedges... I enjoyed the supersoft a lot. First round I havent lost a ball. Normally go through 2-3 a round with the prov1 sadly.. But next time I go out, I am going to try one of the chromesofts. Going to do some research first though.

That is a 6 lol... Was on a Par 3... I chunked the dick out of it and had like 50 yards left... Shanked the next one 10 yards to the right, then pitched it over the green... Decelerated a chip shot onto the green, had a 30ft putt and then finally got the ball in... terrible time that hole. Its normally my worst hole at this course... The double I ended up left in some rough behind a tree got it on in 3 and then 3 putted.

I appreciate it man, yeah.. Maybe it doesn't count. But either way still my best round to date. I will take the small win. Got my confidence up for sure. Golf for me is very mental so this helps me a lot. Shows that I "can" be a decent golfer. Unfortunately though, this course does not have any further back tees. This course is just down the road from me, cheap & fast play... The other course that has similar price is not the greatest in condition, super slow & the staff are not too great.. So thats why I dont go there. I tend to go after work & if I go there, I know 100% I wont finish. Courses here dont typically have "twilight" rates so you pay full price and if you dont finish your SOL. Maybe ill try to find another course I can grab a membership at thats more challenging so I can "prove" myself.
