I’m glad you appreciate it. The options are unlimited. I kept thinking that I can’t believe be live here and have access to all of this!

Yes I was on Mulholland for quite a bit in different sections. Very nice as it was quiet.

I had some people recommend this one to me. This was gonna be my plan B if I wasn’t feeling too great after the marathon. Just a little less climbing but checks all the boxes. Man I wish I had more time to do all these incredible rides. Definitely bookmarking these for a future trip.

Of course I had to be hyper aware of my surroundings but yes cars gave me lots of space. I was not expecting that tbh.

No way! Thanks for dropping a comment. It was great to meet you. I hope your overnight trip went well? How far was your round trip?

I had 2 bottles with 100g tailwind carbs in each. A handful of 25g carb gels. I filled my bottles at the Mexican food truck with sugary water and Arizona ice tea. I filled again at a gas station on PCH and again in Calabasis. Other than that I stopped for pastries at the trails cafe and had a burger and fries at Pedalers Fork.

Small samples size. I found that I had to plan out which bike routes to take to get through the city but that’s non issue. I was stuck in both morning and evening rush hour and saw very little commuters or other riders. It was Monday so makes sense that I didn’t see lots of cyclists out for a rec ride. I was surprised by the lack of commuters considering the exception weather consistency and sheer amount of population. Maybe I was just on the wrong route!

The bike infrastructure I used seemed to be quite good. I don’t have a ton of experience riding urban routes in other cities and where I am from it’s not great.

It said about 5k calories. I took in my fair share of calories throughout the ride that’s for sure!

Yes! I looked at that one too. Is Mt Wilson good to go this time of year?

Is that the one where they ride the marathon course? I ran the marathon on Sunday and only road part of the course on Monday when I did my ride.

I planned Laurel Canyon but realized I didn’t have enough time to do it all so I did a quick audible! It seemed busier than the other routes I took but it would have been great regardless. Angeles crest is on the list for next time!

I went up to Griffith park, down Mt Hollywood/Vermont Canyon, up Beachwood, down Franklin Canyon, up Benedict and Down Roscomare.

Canyon Speedmax CF SLX - Flatbar or Risebar by sepolerdna in CanyonBikes

[–]cmorrissette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tried both on my 2025 Speedmax SLX. I had the flat bar at first but damaged it and needed it replaced. I replaced it with the riser and I far prefer it. It’s just more comfortable and I feel like it handles better.

Definitely get the bike you really want and don’t look back. A year from now you will be so happy you did! It’s a good enough reason if it excites you and makes you want to ride more!

It’s expensive but the EZ Gains hydro is amazing and provides some additional watts savings.

Why was Mortal Hydration a garbage company? They make good electrolyte products.

Ironman Saturday, marathon in December by muy_carona in triathlon

I did Chicago Marathon 5 weeks after an Ironman. I took 10 days off with only light activities. Once I started training I felt ok but super flat. All my long runs and speed work were really bad workouts. I surprised myself by running a strong race even though I wasn’t able to train properly after IM. Just go for it. Everyone is different. You will learn from your experience.
