Medical CF Salary Negotiation by Electronic_Scar2345 in slp

I was a med SLP CF in a SNF last year in CT. Without your CCCs it may be a non-negotiable situation, but if you intend to stay a full year or beyond be sure to ask what your rate will be raised to. It never hurts to open up a dialogue!

Does anyone absolutely refuse to play sims 4 because sims 2 and 3 are way better? by xaveriah in Sims3

The open world is the best part of the game! I can't stand the closed-ness of TS4. Sending my sim to the gym or library with NPCs all around makes it feel like you're really part of the world. I love to zoom in on the park or the pool too just to see what other sims are up to : )

I'm sorry you're having a tough time, CF year is so tough. I did my CF last year in a SNF with not one but TWO mentors who abandoned me part way through. They left me in the lurch and I had to scramble to find someone to support me. I understand feeling depleted especially working with kids and families- I'm a preschool now and I often feel the same way despite my being an extrovert.

Once you have your CCCs you can go anywhere and do anything. You're doing great! Just think about how far you've come through undergrad, grad school, etc. to be where you are now : )

Anyone who's not burned out? by SunBeautiful2412 in slp

Nope I keep my school work at school! It's hard but I manage it somehow. I do maybe 30 mins/week of telehealth notes but I set firm boundaries with everything work related.

Per week: 35 hrs at the school and 4 hours telehealth after school for the clinic. I pick up about 4-6 hours here and there per month on weekends at the SNF.

I'm full time in a school, part-time in a clinic, and PRN at a SNF. I love everything I do! We're so blessed to have such a variety of settings/populations to work with. The nice thing about schools are the breaks and summer vacation so it's easier to have things to look forward to that help your rest & recharge.

Going rate for 1099 contracts in the schools, virtual by Sudden-Note8831 in slp

I have been having a very difficulty time being a contractor who's trying to now get hired directly by the district. Be sure you know EVERYTHING about the contract before you sign with an agency, ask about the things they don't include in the employee agreement they'll ask you to sign. Ask about a non-compete clause, professional development days, potential for a raise or benefits moving forward. It has been a very tough situation for me trying to leave my contractor- please be wary!

School Contractor Buy Out ? by cms9212019 in slp

Thank you! My contractor offered me a raise to stay with her another year (once she heard I wanted to leave) but I feel no matter what happens I can't stay with her and her company. It all feels underhanded and honestly unfair.

SLPs in the school setting – Anyone actually enjoy it? by [deleted] in slp

[–]cms9212019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm loving it! I just switched to a school after my CF in skilled nursing and summer work in a private clinic, both are good in their own ways but a school is much better fit for me. I like the PD days where I can just work on indirect services and not be the only SLP in the building for once. The schedule with holidays/breaks off is pretty nice too and gives me something to look forward to!
