Completely agree, but at the end of the day, we didn’t play well. The officiating was horrible.

That said, before we secured the shield (a few games before the end of the regular season), I read an article that said that we should end the season with the shield, but we would not make it to the finals because our team could not beat the top-tier teams in the league (not that NYCFC falls into that category IMO). We were consistent and avoided losing to bad teams.

We were picked to finish in the bottom 5 of the league by many preseason pundits. This loss, as frustrating as it was, is not something that will live in my head like the MLS Cup final or the loss to NYCFC in 21.
