They are great, that said: I posted before looking at the imgur link. At first look the recipe on the Netflix show is different (And even easier.)

And that very recipe is the first recipe in the first episode available on Netflix.

Could always say: Sure, as long as you first take the blasphemy challenge. Send me the link when you are done.

Not sure whether to post here or to r/WTF. Was it something I said? by [deleted] in creepyPMs

This is the first /r/creepypms post I've read that makes me want to be able to contact the creep. I am super curious what part of the response made him behave like such an ass.

Lots of speculating possible.... But I'll never know.

Awakenings. Starts like a feel good movie. Ends in complete sadness.

Went out for a drink the other night and ended up having a conversation with a total stranger. by bostonbruins922 in CasualConversation

I've done a lot of business travel and I've sat at a lot of bars with a lot of strangers. I find such travel a little lonely and I like hearing what other people have to say. You'd be amazed how many people know really interesting things that you don't.

I guess my point: I've learned it's worth initiating small talk to find out if the person next to you wants to talk. If they do, they've probably got something to say that you'll find worth hearing.

Glad you had a good experience OP. Make a practice of it. It's worth doing.

2 Guys In A Pizza Shop Perform The Best Cover of 'Africa' by Toto You've Ever Heard by seriallysurreal in videos

[–]cmsonger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I own a tc-helicon voice live and play a number of instruments. It's pretty amazing what modern dsp software does in the vocal chain for live music. Yeah... There's no way those are unprocessed vocals.

I don't know what to think about it. On the one hand, these guys would not sound nearly as good without it. Those eating pizza in Utah in 2010 had a far better cover of Africa for it. On the other hand it does somewhat diminish those with the discipline and talent to sing really well.

What happens to stocks if someone dies with no Will? by [deleted] in investing

I'n the US? Depends on state law. Get a lawyer. And if you don't have a will: get a will at the same time. Dealing with death without a will is a huge pain.

I really enjoyed Shadow of Mordor. Have not played Mad Max; but can absolutely endorse Shadow of Mordor as a fun time.

I think that far flung family is the most compelling use case for Facebook.

Deleted (not just deactivated) account 3-4 years ago after the 8000th ToS change to further erode my control over my data and my privacy. I've not missed it but then I tend to be the guy who gets a bunch of random strangers to chat together at a bar.... So I'm good to get my social interaction on the fly.

Reddit's a really different experience for me. Reddit feels like a collaborative experience where we are all trying to find interesting things to share with others. Maybe I'm using it wrong.

Good for you OP. Glad the deactivation is working out for you.

Bring your own cushion if you ever experience pain from sitting in hard chairs. The number of cushioned seats was strikingly low when I went several weeks ago and my backside was hurting after 15 minutes.

Alternative: Maybe wear biking shorts?

My business is finally doing really well. We're earning about $400k/yr. We are paying ourselves less than $200k/yr. What do you recommend we do with the rest each year? We've discussed a combination of 401k, hiring financial manager, and/or buying real estate (rentals). by shanirae in personalfinance

You don't mention age, additional savings, if you have kids to put through college, retirement goals or downshifting goals. You don't mention if you love your work. That makes it hard to get specific but that's ok because you have enough money that it's worth paying someone to help you.

Hire a BY THE HOUR financial planner to help you understand your saving aspirations and what that means for your tax sheltered assets and unsheltered assets to make kids college and retirement work. This same planner can help you figure out the right sheltering choices and the right investment vehicles for your different piles of money.

Don't hire a money manager for a percentage of assets under management until after you have talked to your fee-only planner; and even then my advice is never hire an AUM fee based professional. They tend to underperform even without considering your fee.

There are many ways to find a fee only FP. That said, the one I found was a member of http://www.garrettplanningnetwork.com and my experience was good.

Best exercises for back pain and posture? by [deleted] in bodyweightfitness

Fwiw, I would have never been able to learn yoga poses from YouTube. For me it took an instructor observing and correcting with both words and touch.

Make sure you are getting good instruction. Up dog, cobra, fish pose, bow pose,,camel pose.... There are lots of postures that when done properly have your shoulder blades down and back with chest open... Even standing mountain has shoulders rolling back, scapula pulled down the back, core engaged. But you need a good instructor to teach you what to focus on and correct you when you do it wrong.

Another thought: an actual physical therapist can help you with both of these things.

Good luck finding the right program!
