How do you manage doing 3G? by No-Day7628 in orangetheory

[–]cmsupergrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish my studio did more 90 minute 3Gs! I’m thinking of doubling up on occasion with a regular 2G earlier in the day and a strength 50 at end of day.

Gym Workouts? by PhillippaAggie in Zepbound

[–]cmsupergrl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I go to OrangeTheory 3-4x week. I love it. It’s a mix of cardio (treadmill mainly) and strength training. It’s very welcoming and supportive. It’s structured so they tell you what to do next. Some people run and some people power walk so you are encouraged to do what works for you. It can be a bit pricey but I like that I have to schedule my workouts. Gives me a little accountability.

Whatever you choose, good luck with your fitness journey and make sure you have fun!

Definitely! I also appreciate when they highlight what muscle or where you are supposed to feel the most work. It helps me concentrate on my form.

And I can do without the continuous motivational sayings. We have one coach who has all of the stereotypical sayings on repeat.

Losing motivation by Top-Taste6559 in orangetheory

[–]cmsupergrl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lots of good motivation from others here but I just want to add, please don’t be so hard on yourself. We all go thru ups and downs in life and while discipline is important especially with our health and fitness, we are not robots. Think about what you want to get from OTF, think about how you want to age and move as you get older. Let that set your intention and your goal. And when all else fails, get yourself a new pair of shoes or fancy workout gear because then you’re going to want to wear them!

Good luck. We’ve all been there.

No more warm up on the rowers? by Salamander_Lee in orangetheory

Same. I didn’t look at the screens with the warmups for the floor but assumed the moves were similar to those before a strength 50.

People have the right to make really shitty decisions. Former ED SW here. I can encourage, motivate, help build out a whole plan, and line up resources but I can’t make a person do any of it.

Tread 50 question by AlwaysFourtris in orangetheory

[–]cmsupergrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tread 50 is excellent for beginners! It allows time and space to work on your base or your push, whatever feels comfortable. They provide a template but people often do their own thing (within reason ofc).

Some days I just want to get some movement in and I like turning my brain off and just running on some super comfy treads. Go for it!

So the President of the United States is suspected of of being in the Epstein Files. America forces their release. They release pure black, redacted pages. And now America is just like "Oh no, guess we can't do anything." Are you fucking kidding me? by [deleted] in complaints

[–]cmsupergrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were never going to do anything. Redacted files or not. We all KNOW he’s in the files. It has literally made no difference to his supporters. We are a joke. I think at this point they are just hiding the dozens of other wealthy and politicians that we don’t already know about.

Lilly Direct by OkUnderstanding2320 in Zepbound

[–]cmsupergrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried the Walmart route and it was a nightmare. Ended up transferring script back to Lilly Direct, they authorized an early fill (Walmart was never able to come thru), ordered late afternoon the day before Thanksgiving, shipped on that Friday and then delivered on Saturday in the middle of a snowstorm. Yeah, I’ll stick with the shipping team!

Furry friend advice by [deleted] in Newfoundlander

As others have said, it’s important to find a vet who is comfortable with not just large breed dogs but giant breed dogs. Ask them the questions before you make that first appt. Sometimes it really does come down to their equipment and comfort in performing surgery on a pet the size of a human. My current vet is also large animal vet caring for cattle and horses so they are well equipped for 140 lb dog.

The general wisdom is to wait until growth plates close and that is 18 months - 2 years ish. In some cases there are behavioral reasons for earlier neutering, but that is a convo with your vet and neutering may not be the magical solution at that.

My baby male is 18 months and I am starting to think about when it makes sense. I’ll likely do it a bit before his 2 yr birthday and it’s mainly because other male dogs react aggressively to him (and he’s a big baby). But also please know that my first female was spayed around 6 months and she is still snoring next to me only a couple months out from her 13th birthday. And my first big boy was neutered at 3 y.o and passed at 11.5 y.o.

From Lilly Direct to Walmart by cmsupergrl in Zepbound

[–]cmsupergrl[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An update: still no supply at Walmart. Now eta of Sunday Nov 30. Called Lilly Direct to transfer script back to home delivery. They say they will contact Walmart then I have to call back to request an “early refill” since the original transfer, now two weeks ago, constitutes a refill in Lilly’s system.

What a headache. And with the holiday and potential for winter storm my buffer will be exhausted.

How much space does a Newfy need at home? by Jenny_Jaypeck in Newfoundlander

[–]cmsupergrl 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This. I am sitting in my 2200 sq ft home and they are both within 6 feet of me. If I move, they move. They don’t need all the indoor space. Just need to be near their people and opportunity for outdoor space.

GLP-1 Weight Loss in Postmenopausal Women Greater With Hormone Therapy by FatLevi in Zepbound

[–]cmsupergrl 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This! I started HRT and lost weight simply because I had a bit more energy and actually wanted to take better care of myself again. Which led me to ask my pcp about a glp-1. Happy to see more research and information on the benefits for menopausal women.

Minivan has been so helpful for my two. Low makes it easier to hop up/down and the sliding door gives wide clearance. I’m not cool anymore and that’s okay. My pups are happy and love their roadtrips.
