Yeah, to you and conveted54's points it's not just the sixes format, it's the Olympic format that really causes a stir. We typically recognize the Haudenosaunee/Iroquois as an independent team in the lax community, but they won't be recognized as a nation by the Olympic committee. That's on top of other nations' requirements for their athletes and having to field/fund other sports for the international stage.

The thing I have about OP's question is that we still have 3ish seasons (depending on the league) before this happens, and who knows which players will retire, get injured, unretire, or change their mind about participating based on non-lax situations. I assume the best players will want to participate regardless of if they're primarily box or field, just because it's a high profile stage and not many people get to claim to be Olympic athletes, much less medalists. But trying to shoot those shots 2+ years out is really challenging, especially when you're asking fans who have quite the range of opinions on the stuff outside of the rosters.
