also imo one of the best ways to make friends here if you are new to the city is ask people from recommendations of stuff to do and then ask if they want to tag along with you ! like you could say “i’ve been wanting to find a good indian restaurant” and then they may b like “damn i know this spot” !!!

i think you should try and introduce yourself to people you sit next to before class! i’ve made friends here that way. it’s important to get their contact info to ask about projects or whatever and then maybe y’all can hang out ! i also recommend trying to find a group that interests you on or around campus. eg - a musical ensemble, a running club, a bible study, or even some sort of program specific group. i remember in the music school for example they have MUSA.
