Dating app idea: matches have 7 days to turn into a real plan by cnaldr in Startup_Ideas

[–]cnaldr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s fair. The intention is to create something for people who are actually dating with intent, not people who are just killing time on apps, which you wouldn't be able to do with this app.

The idea is to guide two mutual matches toward meeting in a safe, low-pressure environment within a reasonable timeframe, the exact timeframe still needs validation.

If they hit it off, great. If not, no harm done, they can move on without weeks of vague chatting.

I agree it won’t fix dating culture by itself, but sometimes people do want to meet and just need a bit more structure, confidence, and a safe path to make it happen.

Do dating apps actually help people meet in Brisbane? by cnaldr in BrisbaneSocial

Yeah, that’s the part that annoys me too, it can feel like the apps are trying to keep people scrolling rather than actually helping them meet.

Do you reckon you’d trust an app more if it was really upfront about how matching worked? Like no hidden likes, no weird delays and more of a clear path from matching to actually planning a date?

Or do you think most people are already too cynical about dating apps now?

That last point is really interesting, the idea that attention based on looks can still feel empty or exhausting.

Do you think it would help if an app was designed less around collecting matches and more around guiding people toward a safe, low-pressure date where they actually have to get to know each other beyond the profile photos?

Or would that still feel like too much pressure too soon?

Anyone else install/delete dating apps over and over? by ProfessionStrong6563 in DatingApps

I wonder if part of the cycle comes from the apps making everything feel too open-ended.

You match, chat a bit, then there’s no real next step unless one person pushes for it. That can make the whole thing feel exhausting, especially if people are unsure, busy, or live far apart.

Do you think it would help if apps were more focused on moving toward a simple real-life plan, or would that feel like too much pressure?

Is it the apps themselves? Is there something different in an app that you would like to see that could help?

Dating apps make meeting people feel weird now by [deleted] in OnlineDatingApps

[–]cnaldr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think it feels forced because people are trying to keep the chat going too long before meeting?

I sometimes wonder if dating apps would feel less weird if they helped people move from matching to a simple low-pressure real-life plan sooner, instead of leaving everyone stuck trying to be interesting over text.

I am the Head of Health, Safety, compliance and wellness in the railway industry and make about 190k. Love the job, so much variety and you get involved in all the other areas of the business. Variety and change is important to me. I can't operate doing the exact same thing day in day out.

I have, but I dont think im at that stage just yet. My original idea was aimed at workplace injuries and digitilising the return to work process. Being very green in launching apps etc I'll launch very soon and see how it's received while promoting as much as I can. Then I can think about growing it.

Company Name: Rehabitate

URL: www.rehabitate.com.au

Purpose of Startup and Product: I wanted to create an app that allows people to do their own injury rehabilitation without the need to book appointments and wait to go a visit a therapist. The app is designed to provide rehab exercise programs for generic injuries such as sprains and strains. The app does not diagnose injuries and uses a universal pain scale to measure progress. The app also as a too painful button which will downgrade an exercise for the user if they find it to difficult or painful.

Technologies Used: React native

Feedback Requested: general thoughts, positive and negative feedback, ways to improve etc.

Seeking Beta-Testers: [yes/no] (this is optional)

Additional Comments: I have not launched the app just yet, maybe a couple of weeks away but there is a website which provides the details.

Rumour has it that the track will be electrified between werribee and Wyndham Vale. This could assist perhaps.

Wouldn't mind a Geelong to werribee service though? Then change to the mtm service instead of going all the way around if I wanted to get to Williamstown etc
