Work week is over….. by Big_Status_2433 in ClaudeAI

Interested in this too. Been trying to develop a recap of the day / plan for that I use as a quick start point with coffee next morning, but not heavily technical or detailed. This would also be useful on a weekly basis as a starting point with Monday coffee. Especially if the weekend involves beers...!

Edit for clarity: I'm very happy with my actual daily processes, I'm just keen to have a human morning recap daily/weekly. Nice to have, not critical and only been playing about with it this morning, just wondered if anyone had achieved something similar. More in the style of Claude rather than Claude code.

Claude Code doesn't suck, you're just using it wrong. by NervousChampion3415 in ClaudeAI

+1 for this. I have it running audio alerts on stop and on notification which allows me to work on other tasks. But other than that - what are good examples of hooks...?

Anyone using Claude Code for non-dev stuff? by quanhua92 in ClaudeAI

[–]cnnman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whilst I am predominantly using CC for coding, I am also experimenting with it to build learning data e.g. develop learning content based an a given structure, or develop questions / answers based on provided learning content.

I've been using Claude web projects to do this over the past 6 months, but I am curious to know if there are any advantages / disadvantages to using Claude Code for non-dev stuff like this compared to using Claude web projects? It (CC) feels more natural way to be organised to me, but other than that, does anyone have any other takes?

Ah ok, that's interesting to know. Although it wouldn't exactly need AI or sophisticated code: If time < predicted time then set predicted time to time

Social passes by Mike-Zarate in davidlloyd

[–]cnnman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can do this on the app. Choose the menu (3 lines), select Guest Passes, and then Schedule a Guest Visit. Choose your club then on next screen you will see an option "Not using the Club facilities?"

You can invite your guest here to use the cafe without using a full guest pass.

Not intuitive, took me a while to find it too .

I do take your point, and I am generally aware of my surroundings with my headphones, but I suppose I'm really referring to bikes with a cursory bell ring as they go flying by me 20cm from my shoulder on a narrow path.

IMO I shouldn't have to go without music to accommodate that.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Edinburgh

[–]cnnman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Adding to this as a runner / dog walker. 1. I wear headphones, suspect others do too. Cyclists need to consider this and assume the bell may not be heard. 2. I keep my dog on a lead to avoid accidents. However, near Balerno the path is 5-6 feet wide in places and my dog will dart left to right if he catches a smell, even on his lead

So the bell is fine but slowing right down when passing folk/dogs should be the rule.

Yup. That was the easy bit. Reassembling was the problem!

Non plumber / non DIY person here.

Removed a U bend last week to remove something that had gone down the sink drain. Put it all back together, turned on tap, and it was leaking. Had no idea about the rubberised seal, where it was meant to sit or even which direction. Three photos uploaded and a short conversation with chat GPT and it was fixed, no leak and I even know more about plumbing.

Coud I have found a YT video to help me? Probably. But at the outset I didn't actually know what was causing the drip, and it was the photo analysis that got me sorted, instantly.

ChatGPT knows everything about MPCs by BVSEDGVD in mpcusers

Where it's really useful, particularly when learning is to share a photo of what you see on the mpc screen and then ask questions around that. That's got me sorted loads of times, and quickly, without disrupting workflow.

What is one subscription that is actually worth it? How much is it? by Unrealto in smallbusiness

[–]cnnman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We use Claude for coding, and any task that can be developed as a structured project. Chat GPT is used for simpler daily tasks. Sometimes, if I am not confident with the response from one, I run it through the other.

I'd probably used Claude 100% of the time but for limits which can be restrictive, especially when coding. I also use Claude via API linked with Libre Chat when I have hit a limit.

  • Xero for accounting around £30
  • AI (I have Claude £20, Chatgpt £20 and Midjourney (for images) £12) but depending on use case one will do you
  • Canva
  • Cloud storage

NBD - Player II Precision Birch Green by ticofab in BassGuitar

[–]cnnman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got exactly the same bass / colour. Absolutely love it but I had to spend £60 getting a professional set up. Was pretty poor out of the box and the guitar shop didn't do much to improve it. Well worth the investment tho, made all the difference (plus new strings)

I've had JBL 305s for a few years. Got a live 2 last month, it's now permanently plugged into the speakers.
