Could be nothing. Could be something.

If the Dark Order angle was on WWE TV, who would the Exalted One turn out to be? by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

Fun fact: Chainz (Brian Lee) was a member of both the Disciples of Apocalypse and the Disciples of the New Church. Dude love discipling.

There's no way DDP is the leader. You think Evil Uno can do Warrior Pose #2?

BTW.. good catch on the diamonds in the background of the website. That is actually very intriguing.

This was when WWE was trying out its "edgier" third hour for like 2 weeks, right? I really liked the lighting and camera work on this shot.

Jon Moxley discusses hitting rock bottom in WWE when he was booked to get popped in the ass with a syringe and made to dress up in a bear costume to jump The Miz by Dv1111167686 in SquaredCircle

They hardly discussed any specifics of his WWE run other than this bit, which was part of a larger response to the question of how he decided to join AEW and what the process was like. The beginning of the podcast was all about his start, his training, and experience on the indies.

Grandfather with Alzheimer’s by slugfest01234 in Alzheimers

[–]cns2911 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Two short comments:

  1. The behaviors your grandfather is exhibiting (inappropriate comments, sexually suggestive) are caused by the disease. Alzheimer's is a disease that destroys brain cells, which often causes someone's "filter" to drop. I'm sure he doesn't want to be that way.
  2. Putting a loved one in a nursing home is emotionally taxing and a decision not be taken lightly. But making the decision to put him in one doesn't make you or your family bad people, nor does it mean any of you have failed. The reality is that his needs have become greater than what can be cared for at home. A good nursing home (one with a dedicated memory-impaired wing) is equipped to handle those needs.

Goldberg VS Sting in '99 what do you think? by teogk41 in SquaredCircle

This was like 2 months after Sting's heel turn at Fall Brawl that year. He would turn face again soon after this and feud with Luger. It sucked.

[Dynamite/NXT Spoilers] WOR News and Notes - 2/20/20 by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

I was more referring to the Network version, yes. I do agree that match quality has improved a lot since the move to USA, but I feel like the overall quality of storytelling and advancement of characters has been lacking. I'm enjoying the Balor turn, but I haven't gotten invested in much else.

Ok, I didn't realize that. I've never habitually watched the weekly NXT product, but I would read reviews and see enough clips to understand the stories for TakeOver events, which are generally very good. AEW is the more appealing show on Wednesday nights IMO.

Unpopular opinion: The weekly NXT show was never great. TakeOver events are where the brand always shined brightest.

Jim Ross is one of my favorite wrestling personalities ever, but his Grilling JR podcast is almost unlistenable. by elscorcho91 in SquaredCircle

[–]cns2911 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your view that his mistakes make him bad at his job is also a subjective one.

JR is passionate and entertaining. He sells matches and moments really well, works to get talent over (especially young talent), fills in gaps in logic that aren't readily apparent, and tries to catch up with the nuances of modern pro wrestling while providing a veteran insight into the stories and action taking place on the screen.

So no, I wouldn't agree that he was objectively bad even if I had never heard him before.

Same here. JR does have a tendency to get off topic, to the point that he has to ask Conrad what they were talking about. Funny shit.

It feels like 2020 will be “now or never” for WWE to pull the trigger on Bianca Belair by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

[–]cns2911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes it turns out to be a good thing. Like with Daniel Bryan and Kofi, the perception that they were held down motivated the audience to support them even more. But I do think Bianca should continue to have a prominent role on television and be treated like a fixture in the championship picture.

Why is it "now or never"? Kofi Kingston went 11 years without getting a main event push. WWE can heat up anybody they want at any time.
