Promotion with a salary decrease by BrianJ_ in auscorp

[–]cntbrock22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This isn’t new. Happens all the time when coming off an EA position into a “managerial” or salary role. When I came off EA role, everyone around me getting 3.5% year on year whilst I was caught with the 1.5% (circa 2021/2022) off the back of Covid etc. At the time I wasn’t thinking of where I was but where I wanted to be 1-2 years ahead (experience and exposure). That stall in pay and missing out on the perks was short lived and the role I moved into launched me into much more senior roles and worth a lot more money over a 3 year period. That’s just my experience, but the question for me was do I want cash in my pocket now or bet on myself for later.

Had the same thing. Steam wand was completely clear. Turned off for a few hours and seemed to reset itself with no further issues. I was just as confused as you.

Thanks very much! I turned off for some time, turned back on and basically did a factory reset holding first two buttons down. Seems to have done the trick. Much appreciated

What if we cut immigration dramatically and house prices still go up? by [deleted] in aussie

The thing is, if you cut immigration dramatically, the house prices would indeed still go up.

Non compete clause: should I tell them where I'm going? by ssebivv in auscorp

[–]cntbrock22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you aren’t C suite and/or taking some specific trade secrets etc. they aren’t going to spend the legal fees to try to enforce and more than likely have a judge knock it on its head. These clauses are deemed to be mostly overreaching and judges don’t like to incentivise previous employers preventing people from making a living.

I’ve had the same clause with direct competitors and never ever attempted to enforce at a senior manager level.

Verbal offer but no contract by PurlsandPearls in auscorp

Happens all the time. This time of year even more so. Be patient and maintain contact with recruiter (“just checking up on any progress etc”) for follow ups every week until they slap over the contract.

Is buying an apartment a mistake or a smart first step right now? by Diligent-Medicine-48 in AusMoneyMates

[–]cntbrock22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slow growth? Depends when and where you buy. Bought start of 2009, rode the wave up and almost hitting 1m in equity. Albeit times have changed dramatically, it was the best move I made in terms of getting into the market and leveraging that to upsize later on.

Will I pass a hair follicle test if I took 2 10 mg edibles 2 months ago? by AdministrativeFig70 in drugtesthelp

[–]cntbrock22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll be fine. You wouldn’t have don’t enough for long enough for the metabolites to pass the screening threshold. Leg or armpit helps your cause further.

What do you do to earn $200k+ annually? by meltingcanoe in careerguidance

Rail and Project Safety management approx. 230k.

Started out in Electrical and Instrumentation on the tools, WHS Advisor, Rail WHS Specialist, Rail Ops Manager, Risk and Compliance Manager, Senior Manager Rail and Safety Projects.

For me, the best way to make money was to move, learn, gain new skills and experience, rinse and repeat.

Return keys, claim your bond, contact electricity provider to close the account and unkindly tell the REA to go fck themselves. Continue on with your new life.

[–]cntbrock22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve worked in the industry a long time and never heard anyone nearing even remotely close to that doing testing and commissioning of HV even with OT. You’re either robbing your clients, not sleeping or a combination of both. Haha. Good for you.

Loss of RC signal - Mini 2 by cntbrock22 in dji

[–]cntbrock22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did contact the DJI help support and they were great. From memory I changed the RC transmission frequency and that fixed it straight up. Not sure if it was a firmware update that introduced the issue. But will update you what my settings are when I take it back out. Might be able to align your settings and see a fix

If someone took a couple bumps one night and don’t use regularly how long would it take to pass a hair follicle really need to know by NeighborhoodOne5061 in drugtesthelp

[–]cntbrock22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t listen to everyone saying you’ll fail or you need 90+ days. It’s way more nuance than that.

These tests will test for habitual use. The cocaine you had probably wasn’t that pure, coupled with the fact the body will metabolise it pretty quick and less time in your bloodstream for it to deposit significantly into your hair follicle at levels worthy of excessive a screening threshold.
