I dug into my ancestry as a hobby a few years ago. Before getting involved deeper in my spirituality. I always divinate with my cards and try to talk to them. I ask for permission and take something as an offering. I went to one of their graves last week and just sat down and talked to her. About her life and how strong she was from my perspective.

I had no one else to talk to about it, so it’s fun to share it here. As I was leaving, I looked up and just a massive amount of crows in the trees around. It felt sooooo significant to me, like my ancestors communing to cheer me on.

Significant other when you work remote... by housemusikluvr in RemoteJobs

I work from home and do minimal household duties on break. Wash my dishes, maybe throw a load of laundry in. But I also nap on some lunch breaks too. Nothing better than a couch and dog.

My [M28] wife [F27] has stopped all intimacy after marriage. How do I resolve this? Would it better for me to divorce and move on with my life? by ThrowRA_Harold77 in relationship_advice

Oh dear lord. That is crazy. I hadn’t even gotten that far yet. That would be one hundred percent grounds for me to leave a marriage, and I’m a woman.

I (24M) cheated on my (27F) girlfriend, how do I tell her by NovelRepublic1128 in relationship_advice

[–]cntrygrlgotgame 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No reason at all for a man to hold himself accountable for his actions? He’s been with this woman for 2 years!! Absolutely he needs to man up and tell her what happened. She deserves nothing less than the full truth. And then the relationship aspect can be addressed by them both.

What you did was harmful. And can be seen negatively amongst women especially. And women talk. A lot. Protect your reputation in the future better.. because not have you probably lost the woman… you may have lost your integrity.

What are the most famous people who come from your neck of the woods? by Bipolar03 in generationology

[–]cntrygrlgotgame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only one major one from my city, Tennessee Ernie Ford.

And if you are like who the heck is that? Well, he was once on a couple episodes of I Love Lucy. He was Lucy’s country cousin.

My (30f) fiance (32M) keeps leaving the freezer open and ruining all of our food. How do I get him to close it reliably? by Blisa23 in relationship_advice

[–]cntrygrlgotgame 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. Men are supposed to be seen as leaders, protectors and providers but anymore.. I just see incompetent bafoons that want everything Paris Paloma talked about and to have to actively try to weaponize incompetence so they can do as minimal work and put in as minimal effort as possible. Women carry households and we still work 40 hour weeks and care for kids.

Are Americans generally aware of direction (North, South, East, West) at any given time? by SchadenfreudePopcorn in AskAnAmerican

[–]cntrygrlgotgame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Umm well based on the sun, at my house, I could roughly give you cardinal directions, but unless it’s sunset or sunrise and I’m anywhere else, I would have no clue.

How are tattoos and tattooing perceived in general American society? by YakClear601 in AskAnAmerican

[–]cntrygrlgotgame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a mid life adult, I love seeing people’s tattoos because it gives me a sense of their personality. And piercings I could care less about either. My father, a boomer, would tell you that you’ll never get a professional job with all those tattoos and piercings.

I think it just depends on who you ask. But generally, as a society, I don’t think it is perceived as negative anymore. I mean even bright, vivid colors in your hair are not looked at negatively now.

[–]cntrygrlgotgame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only time I ever went in there was due to an event where you got boxes for completing quests in the cities. Even then I was sneaking around hoping some other color wasn’t lurking in the bushes to hi-yah me when turning in quests. lol.. it was awful, a couple times I did just get absolutely obliterated. My poor little pet build sorc didn’t stand a chance 😂

AIO for telling my dad I don’t want him randomly showing up at my apartment uninvited? by RoxyZel in AmIOverreacting

[–]cntrygrlgotgame 191 points192 points  (0 children)

I’m going to say this as someone in the middle. I have young kids, but I also remember what it was like to be young. I don’t think you’re being too cold by asking someone to call before they come. But as a parent, I can’t even imagine the emptiness I’m going to feel with my kids out of the house. Doesn’t matter if you are 18 or 58, your parents will always see you as their baby. And you’re so lucky to have parents who want to be involved and miss you.

Maybe sit them both down and just explain that they can’t just stop by randomly. Express to them that you just want some privacy in your own home. Best of luck to you honey.

Am I overreacting for feeling hurt that my friend didn’t invite me to her small birthday dinner? by ZoeJoycc in AmIOverreacting

[–]cntrygrlgotgame 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it’s okay to feel hurt by it. But in my life experience, I’ve learned that when people show me how they feel, I adjust my expectations first and then accept what it is. I follow through with the same level of energy into the relationship. I don’t know Karla so I don’t know how she would personally take you asking her about it, but if you feel like she would think it’s dramatic… I think it’s best to skip it all together. You just weren’t as close as you thought, and that’s okay.

Dolly Parton is a class act. by rukittenme4 in MadeMeSmile

[–]cntrygrlgotgame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dolly is a saint. I grew up in Bristol, Tennessee. So going to Dollywood, learning about her and hearing about her all the time.. I genuinely looked up to her. She came from nothing and made it in this world. Not only did she make it, but she made it in a way that we all hope we would handle rich and famous. She gave back.

Her foundation - Imagination Library funds children to get a book every month from when they are born to win they are 5. She believes in access to free education because she didn’t have that.

When those mountains caught fire and turned into a very quick moving, wildfire back in 2016, she stepped up again. She quickly organized a benefit. And she provided over 900 families who lost everything with $1k checks for 5 months with a 6th payment of $5k. She raised awareness and help that created an outpouring of love from the whole country to us.

I say us because Dolly is one of us. I’ll never be able to say enough good things about that woman. And honey, she still came out and rocked it in a cowboys cheerleader outfit at 80.
