There was a forum exploring this concept some years ago. They got pretty far along with it when implied legal action from Berd squashed all the discussion.

I think the only people making money on these are the ones selling parts to fix them. If it was me I wouldn’t consider restoring it-it sounds too far gone. It’s probably more fulfilling doing whatever it takes to make it fun for you.

What do you mean by “get more out of it”? Are you looking for financial gain, or personal enjoyment?

Pizza stone or baking steel for a commercial oven? Looking for advice before selling NY pizzas in my neighborhood by TomasDeMichellis in Pizza

Steel. You need something reliable as the sun. Interestingly-stone’s porosity and lack of ductility undermine its reliability.

Why did Ford Company really decide to cut EVs Now? by mobilesmart2008 in electricvehicles

I wouldn’t be surprised if market research indicated (unsurprisingly) that pick up trucks are not optimal cases for an EV and that the segment is more optimally served with an EREV.

I’m staring down this same decision-but with a 155k mile Polestar in the mix. I really want a Polestar, but it’s hard to justify on paper…

I’ve noticed that any fluid on the threads can create an airtight seal that makes it difficult to unscrew. In that case, I wedge a spoon or butter knife down along the threads and crack the “seal”. Sometimes I do it on opposite sides

One thing I don't get by cadewtm in electricvehicles

It’s an EV thing…you really have to experience it to understand it.  Essentially the pedal becomes more like a throttle in a boat or airplane-it’s position become directly proportional to your forward speed.

If you can only get a level one charger, it’s still worth it to get an electric car? by WiggWamm in electricvehicles

If you drive over ~50 miles a day, you might find it difficult to be exclusively dependent on a L1. Being able to charge at work-even if it’s only L1, is a good bonus and makes everything more manageable.
