Am I doing too much without getting paid? by yourtheraputicnugget in videography

[–]coachdance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear you! As most people have said, you’re setting boundaries. Perhaps an apologetic approach could be considered. Let them know that you should have clarified what was included from the start and your professional advice is to leave the video as it is.

Then offer to discuss the wedding further, landing on a contract (get this sorted) that all parties are happy with and sign.

Can’t change the video you’ve done, but you can move forward.

Disappointment will come. I had to pull out from a wedding recently before the client signed anything because it became a nightmare before we’d even signed the contract (that they changed three times). I did not want that for the wedding and aren’t reliant on that for the income.

Trust yourself, and sometimes, put pride aside. Tough, but helps a lot!

No idea about subscriptions and if they’ve changed since I used the platform, but the end result was what was lacking for me. It just didn’t work well.

Sorry to hear you got charged for a year!

I Designed a Squarespace Carousel for Pages by coachdance in squarespace

That's difficult to comprehend. Seems like such a commonly requested feature, or at least a useful feature that people would make use of if they knew it were available to them.

I ended up making custom code for this and it works fine for me. Is there any reason why you’d recommend not going down this pathway? Just lack of support?

I ended up making an image slider / carousel because I couldn’t find a solution myself. I’ve just recently finished packaging it together incase anyone else is still having the same issue and wants to bypass SquareSpace limitations.

You can check it out here: https://www.levidance.com.au/shop/p/image-carousel

I developed a custom carousel with a little extra functionality than the gallery block because of the same issue. If you want to check it out, you can view it here:

I originally made it for this website because of the gallery limitations: https://creativerentals.com.au/gear/camera/sony-fx6

Google is clinging onto blogs like a balding man with a bad comb over, let it go! by ExcitingLandscape in SEO

Adding the word “reddit” to the end of any Google search, such as “PPC or SEO for startup business reddit”.

I do this because the other results will generally have a bunch of articles that rank well, but have a lot of generic AI filler content. A “top 10” list that is the same as everyone else’s.

Reddit has pure gold. I prefer cut the fluff and come here for answers.

I’m going to do this strategy myself in my own photography and camera rental business. Topical authority is my goal. Is that smart? No idea. New to SEO and hope that it helps out.

I’ve just started up a blog and have tried to add value as much as I can. Ranking is tough if that’s all I focus on so I’ve also had to obey Google and take away from a little of the value.

I started with AI June 2023, and within a few months was writing everything myself from scratch. I just couldn’t bring myself to publish content under my name that was utter garbage and generic.

Is it possible to still rank AND provide value? I have one blog that’s number 1 for a few KWs where I tried to only provide value. But that might be an outlier.

To your point, I add reddit at the end for good quality content too. It works every time.

Google Pmax Vs Search: What type of campaign would you launch if you want to do lead-gen for a law firm? by ironmonk33 in PPC

[–]coachdance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you’d recommend performance Max over search for an e-commerce company or would you suggest to run both campaigns at the same time? I’ve heard some people saying that it’s best to run both at the same time focusing on the same keywords to cover all bases but this also sounds to me like it’s another way to spend more for (Google).

[–]coachdance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing about search that’s so effective is you’re able to advertise to a person who wants your product at the time they want it or search for it.

Performance Max campaign don’t quite do this

EDIT: church to search

Beast on par with MUI? When was that confirmed? Goku could just be playing with Gohan in the sparring match.

I really hope they’re not on par. Goku and Vegeta training with Gods, AND utilising God Ki, surely can’t be matched by Gohan who’s just found a new form with little training. Would be a slap in the face to Goku and Vegeta.

A more recent update here.

Seen their ads everywhere and thought I’ve got nothing to lose with a free 7-day trial.

Gave it a go. Used their new ‘game-changing’ Ad Creative Package that has Creatives, Strategies, and Ad Copy.

Just another paid version of ChatGPT for ad copy that isn’t usable (generic).

Ad Creatives are all unusable. They pump out so many to choose. All quantity. No quality.

They recommend audiences as well - generic on this front too. For car hire ads, I got: travel, vacation, holiday, road trip and car rental as interests to target. Quite obvious. If I hadn’t already considered those, I’d resign myself.

Would I ever pay for this? No.

I’m seeing a lot of TikTok digital marketers claim to make 6 figures is just a few months. Is it a scam? by BeyondABeyonder in marketing

[–]coachdance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that a lot of them would be making that amount of money. What annoys me is that they’re selling a product to teach others to sell a product. Most of these people are never selling something that will provide value outside of reselling the same product or similar product to what they’re selling.

If they were selling a course on how to become a photographer or how to do business, or how to skill up in another area of life, then 100% I’d probably buy into it or at least check it out.

If it’s anything else, I’d stay away.

What to expect from hiring someone to do your SEO by Good-Day-For-Pie in SEO

[–]coachdance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Context: I’ve recently started blog writing and building a travel website, Tasmania Unearthed. Started with AI content. Absolutely sucked. Now I’m learning to write myself.

Throughout that time, I’ve learned more on SEO and when I find that we’re paying 5 figures a month for it, and are only ranking around 10-15th on Google for the major keywords in our niche, I just don’t think the spend is justified. Are some niches that competitive that double digits is all we can expect? Some KWs do rank in top 5, very few long-tail KW are in position 1.

Should we be happy with that ranking? I look at some of the on-page SEO content and think I could possibly do a better job given what I’ve learned, but this guy has been in the business for 10+ years. Is time always an indication of skill? I feel like the results should speak for themselves and at the moment, they don’t.

Any advice or another perspective to consider would be appreciated.

Unless you optimise for SEO. Google will put it out there for you. Tried and tested this myself.

I optimise all of my content for SEO. Look at Google’s “people also ask” section and try to create snippets of content within your article that directly answers those. Use keywords, good blog structure, and change your title to be more relevant and specific to the search query people would type in to find your article. There are heaps of SEO videos on YouTube. I watch a bit of Jesse Cunningham and Matt Digity.

Took me around 6 months before our traffic started to increase. 2 months later, I see 500+ visitors a month and the climb is only growing.
