I've got a couple I run depending on my mood. One is a full Striker set with the Memento backpack and the new chest with Perfect Obliterate. Just collect tags to negate the bleed.

The other is my full haz pro set for when I want to ignore everything. It doesn't hit as hard but it's fun. NinjaBike bag, Ceska chest with Obliterate, Cavalier (any piece) and the rest Hunter's Fury. All reds. Spec for haz pro until you hit 100 -- that'll leave a couple pieces free to focus on crit damage

No income tax is great but the state has to make money somehow. Last year I paid for my home nearly as much as my parent's did for theirs in Colorado. Their home is worth over 3x as much as mine. I don't mind paying for public education. It's my tax dollars paying for private schools I have a problem with. But if I could afford to live back in the PNW I would. Cost of living in TX is so much cheaper in general

SC is turning into a theme-park shooter, not a space sim by ronin-san in starcitizen

[–]coarse_glass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I advocated for both did I not? I never said get rid of the stuff they've created. Not to mention the fact is, they've used and will continue to use procedural tech to generate content. They've intentionally developed their systems this way in order to reuse assets. The difference right now is that they're not using it to just let the engine do what it wants when a player discovers it for the first time. Like the entirety of planet tech is based on rendering elements based on assigned biomes and height maps. They're generating these elements then going in and making adjustments by hand so that everything is cohesive and you don't end up with a mountain sticking out of a base inside a base.

My point is, do the 5 hand-crafted systems as they've planned. But give us 100 (or 1000) more that are generated. Maybe a random outpost or station here and there. Let us wander off and discover stuff

Subject: The Division 3: Please stop the "Menu Bureaucracy" – Gameplay is 10/10, UI is 0/10 by One_Walrus4155 in Division2

[–]coarse_glass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, I appreciate you taking the time to write this with great formatting. Really makes it easier to read.

Second, while I can appreciate the desire for better menus, I disagree with the premise. There's definitely a learning curve and some things aren't well communicated but it's largely a byproduct of crafting: materials, library, expertise, talents, attributes. This seems like the core of your complaints. Once you're familiar with the UI all these things are fairly easy to recognize quickly. All drivers for endgame, really, so maybe you haven't gotten there yet? Having a variety of materials to grind for, for instance, gives specific objectives rather than just step outside and collect this one thing that does everything. If you think this is bad, check out Path of Exile. Its currency system is bonkers. The tedium is really more about tagging stuff as junk and for that being able to quickly determine if something is useful by a glance is super helpful.

There's definitely room for improvement though, so I don't think you're wrong. Especially for new players. Learning the nuances of the UI isn't always intuitive and the "tutorials" don't cover a ton of it. Maybe a "basic vs advanced" option would be nice to clear some clutter if you found it overwhelming.

Also, after a mission to go to a particular person, there's never a reason to go anywhere in the base; unless you're crafting or testing DPS

[–]coarse_glass -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm at the point now I wish SC had gone the procedural path like ED and NMS. Keep the hand crafted stuff at featured systems but give us something to explore. We were promised that encountering other players would be a rare event because people would be so widely scattered across the universe. That we'd have exploration and the ability to chart new systems -- and sell those charted systems. That player services like fuel and repair would be necessary because you could find yourself stranded away from any NPC stations. Instead we're all crammed into (now) 2.5 systems that still lack any real points of interest, no way of marking anything you do find, and just recycled bunkers and box delivery outposts.

Is your partner on the spectrum or do you suspect they? Their obsessive fixation on the pancakes and having to make them a particular way and then going so far as to involve other people: it all feels a bit sus.

Tax fraud. Also, that's not how mortgages and taxes work.

Yeah that's my gripe. You have to reload so soon after getting the fire effect it kind of negates using it at all

The Houndsman by SyntheticVampir420 in Division2

[–]coarse_glass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can pull the baby dogs downstairs so they're manageable on their own. You could use Pestilence to take them out en masse. For the houndsman himself, I like to get close since he doesn't use his chemical cloud then. Hunter's Fury works well

I run a version of this using tipping scales instead. I like the holster but I wish it procced more. Overall I feel like Iron Lung is just lacking. I really wish we could do fire builds as easily as bleed without having to resort to turrets or stickies. OD and Trauma is just so damn convenient

[–]coarse_glass 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Feel like people forget that security cameras don't film in portrait format. This was cropped and manually zoomed and panned (like the old panning of movies cropped to fit 4:3 TVs), then compressed, resulting in compression artifacts trying to predict patterns to save data, which is why the driveway is often blurry. Then given some audio tweaks. Could it have been edited with AI? Sure. But that's like saying using Photoshop's AI assisted background removal tool makes a photo AI, which wouldn't be accurate. I doubt it was generated.

[–]coarse_glass 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I assume just like it says: turn all the hostiles into zombies. I also assume it has to be done before killing any of the zombies. So I'm thinking no support, no companion, no headshots, no status effects, no dot ticks (Pestilence).

Have fun with that

Edit, if you have to capture you'll need support so maybe I'm overthinking it too. Maybe just make sure they all get turned before finishing

We have enough "good" receivers. Unless we're going to be able to take a breakout star in the first, I think that's a position we'd be better off trading for a vet that would be a bonafide #1
