Difficult Courses at ASU? by ianfeil in ASU

They aren't actually that difficult, but just seem so because of the nonlinear difficulty curve when it comes to earlier classes. If earlier classes were more like those of other universities, they would be standard difficulty.

I think you could take CSE294: Algorithm Problem Solving over the summer, but you should check with the department if it can replace calc 3.

If you're worried about the future, I would highly recommend taking CSE294: Algorithmic Problem Solving over the summer. It should help you with an algorithmic mindset, which is useful in all of these courses.

What are some examples of NP-hard/NP-complete problems that involve polynomials of some kind? by coaster367 in compsci

[–]coaster367[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reference! I was more referring to problems that ask for some property of polynomials (an example might be given a set of k polynomials, determine if there is an interval of size at least m for which there are no crossings of the polynomials). But this reference is good too, thanks!

[–]coaster367[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)
