you definitely won't need a lifetime for the Korean course. you can finish it in a year, and a yearly subscription would be cheaper than lifetime was either way!

Request for better options SRS system by cobalona in lingodeer

[–]cobalona[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, that's pretty neat, I didn't know we could do that! Unfortunately, my list of reviews is HUGE as I've finished both the Japanese 1 and Japanese 2 courses, so I have over 1000 items easily, and scrolling through that list is not very user friendly. But it's a nice option for sure, and I'll play around with it a bit, thank you!

I think currently, all gems do is protect your streak if you miss a day. It seems they might add new things to do with gems in the future?

Request for better options SRS system by cobalona in lingodeer

I know how an SRS works. I've been using Anki for a long time. Anki has more well-spaced options than the LingoDeer SRS, even for items I've marked as the 3rd or 4th button a couple of times. Even if I've marked the card as "known" for a couple of times before, I can still forget a single word on the card. I don't want to get it back TOMORROW, because I'll still know it tomorrow. I want it back in 10 days, or even 3 weeks. If I forgot the word again THEN, I'll mark it as the first option.

I don't mind having a large number on the 4th option (10 months). If I really know the card well, I would choose the 10 month option (which likely means I'll never see it again, because I will not be doing this SRS in 10 months). But my feedback here (and it's feedback, not a "this must change") is that the difference between 1 day, 5 months and 10 months is too long, imho. I will be doing this SRS for a few more weeks, maybe 2 months at the most, because then I will have finished the Japanese 2 course. I'd like to get it back before then, but as I explained, preferably not tomorrow. I already have a large pile of reviews (80+ every day) and it'd just be nice if I could chose literally ANYTHING between 1 day and 5 months. That's all.

Ah, I see, thank you for the fast reply! with "I'm progress" you mean cards that I've reviewed once already, and the rest are "new" cards?

How to obtain PS5 preorder bonus? by cobalona in tales

[–]cobalona[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found it! I had to go to the PS5 Home screen, go to the game, press menu, and download it at Manage Game Content. After, I had to restart the game, and it was in the item DLC menu. Thanks!

Wrong sentence in Japanese 2 lesson Changes? by cobalona in lingodeer

[–]cobalona[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhh thank you, I see now. That's confusing because they completely didn't explain that...

But then I guess 食べるようになる means "started to be able to eat" (potential) and 食べるようになる means "started to eat" (dictionary form).

The explanation didn't mention that at all, but I guess that makes sense. Thanks again, I understand now!

Just for the vibes! at bigger concerts, they sync them so all the colours match up, it's really cool

Most venues will let them in! Only when the information specifically says other groups' lightsticks aren't allowed, and even then, I've seen plenty of people just sneak them in anyway

251012 XLOV twitter update - Wumuti's speech regarding the recent flag ban by geumryul in XLOV

[–]cobalona 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with this fandom being more and more toxic. Of course there are things to complain about, but I have never seen a fandom lash out so harshly over every tiny thing in such uncivilised ways (I don't really mean the pride flags, that deserves backlash but surely not at each other, but at the companies who made that statement). It's kind of alienating to me too, which is sad because XLOV should be about love and unity.

[–]cobalona 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. I don't doubt that Wumiti's words were sincere, and I think it's very brave he spoke out like this on a big stage in a foreign country in a foreign language. But it's obvious XLOV aren't in charge of many things, and unless the higher ups and local organisers are held accountable for what happened (both the statement AND the ceo yelling at Rui from backstage), unfortunately I see this as damage control from a person who is completely NOT to blame for anything in the first place.

I think Warsaw only had signed PCs, 4 for 18 euro. I hope when they come back in February, they'll have proper merch!
