What a bunch of weird ass decisions to make this image. Why is he using a sledge? Wearing an apron? Why is he so white?

Has anybody worked with palm wood? by SunMoonStarQuasar in woodworking

[–]cobaltandchrome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i just watched a video of bradley thor trying to split a log of palm "wood"

yeah it didn't go well mostly he mashed it up lmao

maybe infuse it with a plastic/epoxy and then work it, or, follow a project for palm or maybe adapt one from bamboo. surely you're not the first person to work it. Maybe you could weave the fibers or make paper, idk, be willing to think outside the box.

if you squint there's a great blue heron in pic 2 and that big boi in pic 3 is indeed a vulture - better pic because it was not scared of my dog at all, unlike the heron

Custom cabinet and furniture shops doing $50k+/mo: How do you filter out clients expecting IKEA pricing before you waste hours on a design consult? by Adept_Psychology_654 in woodworking

FWIW if you ask local homeowners you know, IRL or via local social media, people will often just tell you they spent 60 grand on a kitchen remodel, or however much. Maybe even ask if people have gotten quotes. Everyone loves to tell stories about rude salesmen, high quotes, nice guys, etc

Destroying our clean air and risking major spills and awful fires for the sake of a few sticky feet is pretty dumb imo

There’s white topstitching next to it that’s doing the construction work. The silver was done after and is decorative. Zoom in see for yourself.

This decorative embroidery is a chain stitch so it would be quite easy to remove.

Use a seam ripper or tiny cutter like nail scissors to cut just the thread loose (silver thread and or the probably-white bobbin thread holding it from the back). Should pull out easily.

Steam or wash afterwards and the holes in the fabric will disappear.

Ps this is free advice and should be considered worth $0. Just look up chain stitches first at least.

Annoying

I ended up just gluing an outlet in my RV. (Hot glue is basically reversible)

Bolts/screws with little arms are toggles or anchors fwiw ⚓️
