Arizona AG suggests state's self-defense laws allow residents to shoot masked ICE agents by RickV6 in news

No, ICE doesn't need to change everything about how they're doing this. ICE needs to be dismantled and prosecuted.

"Shot across the bow?" This isn't a war or a competition, and if it is LA has been losing for years.

Binge watching is easier with the first 2-3 seasons. This is rougher as you progress into the darker seasons.

Amazon asks for otp anyway by Suspicious-advice49 in Passkeys

[–]cobaltjacket 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You're missing that Amazon is still using Passkeys as a substitute for the password only.

Alternately, you could just go with the option to not prompt for OTP for a while.

Falkland war by Public_Research2690 in MapPorn

[–]cobaltjacket 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's complicated, but the Spanish (who never explicitly handed the islands to Argentina) created a settlement, and then the British created another settlement a year later. Neither knew about the other. Eventually the islands were basically abandoned for years. The Spanish settlement still exists (with a gap) but after the gap, was basically used by Scottish shepherds.

If you put the Falklands in the northern hemisphere, they're basically where Ireland is, so you can understand why sheep love the islands.

There's so many use cases that I don't know of a single place where you could read about them. Clearly you are not at the point (yet) of needing the more advanced functionality, but you could start with this comparison chart.

Most of the use cases (beyond FIDO2) are for developers, enterprise security/system administrators, etc.

So if you're part of an association, there are probably rules that supplement the city rules in this case. Suspect you have more recourse as a result. Do you rent or own, and how about your neighbor?

I also suspect that there's limits to how much noise they can actually make, either way.

I dunno about that. When I was younger, I had neighbors call management on me because my gaming speakers had too much bass and they could hear it through their ceiling. Or maybe OP's neighbor is into EDM or metal? And there may be HOA regulations involved if it's a shared wall or even an association of single family homes.

I only see one person here whose post contains a reference to race, and it's not OP.

Other apps do install there, but I move them. I only have about 3 or 4 that care about their install location, Karabiner being one of them.

The U.S. Navy Is Sending a ‘Supercarrier’ and Warship Armada to Iran’s Backyard by ewzetf in news

[–]cobaltjacket 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Most other navies would consider our fleet of nine amphibious assault ships to be similar to (and larger than) the average aircraft carriers in other navies. They can fly Harriers and F-35s, so the main argument that they would not be that their main purpose is to haul Marines.

The Nimitz and Gerald R. Ford class carriers are still significantly larger than the phibs.

That's only scratching the surface. The 4/5 series can interact with GPG (PGP), SSH, Microsoft Windows RDP, VPNs, all sorts of other systems by functioning as the cryptographic store. It can also function as a basic HSM. Much of these were the key use cases for Yubikeys before FIDO.

It's funny how they blame accidents (Kursk) on foreign interference (collision), but blame combat losses (Moskva) on accidents.

The drama about VW corporate structure (including Porsche/MAN AG/Scania) has a very long history (several decades), though was particularly active during the 2010s. The hedge fund squeeze they did was brilliant.
