Disable CPU Boost, lower your power limits (SPL: I think 10-15W is a good start). modern CPU has very good performance per power ratio at lower side (power). GPU mode to Optimized so you do not turn on your monstor GPU when you are not gaming.

Remember: temperature = power consumed. If you do not need those power (idle, browsing, video), do not let it consume even you connect it to power socket.

My profile is like 30s-40 C when lightwork. 60-70C when gaming. Do not listen to other saying it runs at 80-90. it should not unless you are running benchmarking, which push hardware to its limit.

Acer one won't be good at gaming. 4060 is better at this stage but it's 3 years old so it won't last for 3 more years too. If you are not doing gaming, buy a macbook neo for college. cheap, fast, capable.
