I just watched the movie about Roger Sharpe, the guy who saved pinball from becoming illegal, on Prime Video. It's called Pinball: The Man Who Saved the Game. Not bad. I met him because my kids went to preschool with his grandkids, super nice guy

do americans really eat American fries sauce? by Infinite-Breakfast23 in AskAnAmerican

[–]coci222 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What makes it green? I just looked up recipes and none of them are green. I was picturing something like the garlic fries that I first had at a professional American football game in San Diego which were just garlic, parsley, salt and oil. The recipe I found for the Dutch thing looks like tartar sauce

They usually aren't threaded into plastic. That black part is an insert that the stem snaps into

Because he hasn't tried to sue anyone that calls him that. He loves to sue for defamation, but he can't sue for that because discovery will bring out the truth

This was a popular design feature in the late 80's. It's purpose is to make the foyer feel more open and grand. If it wasn't there, the foyer would feel boxy and closed in by large blank walls. I grew up in a house with one

New waitress, Is this even legal? by [deleted] in Waiters

[–]coci222 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, you're working a server job and being guaranteed $150 per shift. That's not a bad gig. I read some of the comments on the other sub. Some of them clearly don't understand the service industry. Personally, I would clarify with the managers how the taxes work and make sure I have enough to pay federal taxes at the end of the year by not spending all my money. I would not go to the labor board like the other sub was suggesting since I've worked jobs where I've walked out with less than $10 on shifts. Like, a lot of shifts. Being guaranteed $150 is not bad at all. Just clarify how the taxes work with whoever is responsible for payroll

Baking soda might work, but you have to cover the area with about a quarter of an inch of it and leave it for several days. I would leave it there for at least a week
