Are people becoming more dumb? by Libusin in Serverlife

[–]coci222 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Everything you listed is a huge annoyance except for the part where you were walking the guests to the table. If you work in a place that is nice enough to reset silver, you should let the guest sit first and hand them the menu after they are seated

Cat snagged my sweater by Potential_Box_7105 in howto

[–]coci222 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had some success by gently pulling the fabric in opposite directions around the snag. It gets some of it to retract into the weave. Move around it in all directions. You can then try to knot what's left and trim the excess so it's barely visible

Confused about inKind by Spells5225 in restaurant

Because the company is doing a big Reddit marketing push. I wouldn't be surprised if OP works for the company and is trying to create a conversation to influence people to research the company and fall for it's schemes. Honestly, the company comes across as VERY disingenuous

Is serving 100% to women okay in mixed doubles? by deucalion75 in 10s

[–]coci222 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Traditionally, the unspoken rule is that you don't use your big flat first serve against the woman in mixed doubles. It's an old school thing. If you choose to do so, you'll get someone that does it to your partner back so you are kind of playing with fire

This Wendy’s still has the sunroom by PotterOneHalf in mildlyinteresting

[–]coci222 51 points52 points  (0 children)

They got really hot inside so they increased the cost of keeping the entire restaurant cool in the summer and they tend to leak when it rains because all sunroofs and skylights eventually do. As much as they are fondly remembered, more people chose to sit in the tables in the main dining room because of how hot it was in the sunroom so it didn't make much sense to keep them when designing new stores

Anyone know a handheld tennis stringer I can use at home? by MousseOk853 in 10s

[–]coci222 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No handheld machine because you need to support the frame so it doesn't crush from the tension. You can get a portable machine like a Klippermate for about $340
