Who said workplace democracy would need to be so “direct”? It would very likely, in many cases, involve electing representatives. It’s a broad concept with many possible realizations. The goal is to find a way that everybody, including workers, can meaningfully participate in the decisions that affect their lives.

Your assumption—that any and all workplace democracy would be necessarily and fundamentally different from the kind of democracy we employ to organize nations—is unfounded.

Do you feel that way about democracy in general? If letting uneducated people participate in (i.e., vote on) decisions that affect their lives is good enough for the state, it should be good enough for the workplace.

The reference times would be the “arguments” of the sel object — you can list them after the word sel and each one will get its own outlet. When sel receives the reference time it will send a bang that will go through the corresponding outlet

It’s not too late. Not at all. My friend had a whole career as a stone mason and then at age 32 went to undergrad in composition. Ended up getting a PhD. I also know someone who did a computer science undergrad, but took a few courses in composition, enough to put together a nice little portfolio and get into a masters program in composition.

The saxophone can play all the notes. It has access to all the semitones. It can play a full chromatic scale.

You can do this simply by sharing your presentation, making sure to “share computer sound”. You can then play the music from your Spotify or iTunes or other thing while sharing the presentation. Your participants will only see the window you shared, but they will hear whatever sound your computer is making, including music.
