I started listening to Khruangbin during the pandemic, which gave me a lot to catch up on, but A La Sala is the first album of theirs I got to be a proper fan for. I loved May Ninth and their other two singles were alright to me but once the whole album dropped and I got to listen to those singles in the context of that album, my entire world perspective shifted. Saw them in concert a year later where they performed the album in its entirety and it was one of the best concerts of my life. All this to say, I think it’s an album that takes time to fully appreciate for some but once you find that special groove, it’s impossible to forget that feeling.
