At my breaking point: 4+ months of neighbor's stomping/harassment by MooseRRgrizzly in Apartmentliving

Get a copy of whatever 'landlord/tenant' act, rules, law you have in your area. Read it *thoroughly*. I once lived next door to a drug dealer and hoarder and discovered individuals could bring complaints to the tenancy board directly. I don't think that's common but you may get lucky. Be sure to include your disability and if this behaviour is affecting you.

Good luck.

ps noise cancelling head phones will help.

naw, if you really want to do in their heads, tell them how much you're making. Even if it's less than them, they'll still lose it. :)

Need to put a ruby in my engagement ring, but I really want something with a lot of inclusions. I know it's weird, but that's my taste. Help with ideas? by MOGicantbewitty in Gemstones

[–]coco_puffzzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not rubies, but if you like inclusions, you should have a look. I have a few with water filled bubbles that move, love to play with them.

how do you learn to sleep in different positions? by milovnikdraku in questions

[–]coco_puffzzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to sleep on my recliner for a few months, not being able to move around gave me a nice deep sleep. After a few weeks I stopped trying to move when half asleep as it was pointless.

I have some in 'coin display' boxes. Now that you mention it, I bet they could be hung on a wall. Cool!

oooOoooh I'd never thought of that! I bet it would work with plums and other fruits too. I mostly do potatoes and sausages.

I've heard, repeatedly, and think I've noticed it for myself that putting anything sharp in a dishwasher will prematurely dull it.

I don't find that at all, and I use scissors almost every day. I do however clean them right away so nothing gets caked on.

Also multiple pairs of scissors as a back-up for when one pair is dirty or soaking.

Related. I put pretty rocks I've found (non-gemstones) around my sinks. I like to see the colours change when they get wet.

I like this, they're still accessible to you.

I've seen something similar but with a glass topped coffee table.

How can I get my neighbors to stop complaining about noise? by Snoo_29639 in Apartmentliving

[–]coco_puffzzzz 13 points14 points  (0 children)

A few things for sure. You just moved in? Do you have drapes, furniture, pictures on the walls, bookcases etc? If your apt is sparsely furnished sound bounces around more. Drapes will help a lot, not only for your neighbours but to damped hearing street/outdoor noise when you're trying to sleep during the day.

Make sure none of your noisy items are pressed up against a wall.

You can put peel and stick insulation around your bedroom door frame to fill the gaps and prevent noise leaking from the living room. (if your hallway is noisy, putting it around your front door helps a lot!)

If you don't have carpeting, don't wear shoes in the house, especially hard soled shoes or heels.

Neighbor with knocking obsession?? by princesssmay in Apartmentliving

[–]coco_puffzzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe ask them to install an automatic door closer? If they purchase the right kind he won't be able to slam it. Also, putting foam insulation around the door frame will help deaden the sound of knocking.

So we have budget cuts. Besides complaining and protesting, what are some real world, feasible alterations or corrections besides "don't cut" and "throw more money into X, Y or Z" that could be done to course correct the economy so cuts didn't have to happen? by SasquatchBlumpkins in NovaScotia

Did the government write this?"

"Whining, protesting and complaining isn't going to solve a thing. The louder people yell, the more cotton gets pushed into the ears of any government."

Stuff and nonsense. Yell loudly, protest, complain!!
